is one of them painting everyone who supports anything they disagree with as belonging to one group? and is the other to say that those who disagree with you must be agents of some external enemy?

when voting for presidents, does the popular vote even matter at all? the electoral college votes, and like the election of al gore vs. george w. bush, the popular vote was for gore and the the electoral collge voted for bush. bush won.
so, my question is: if you vote for president, does it even matter?
or is is just better to vote for local government? if you vote for mayors and such, they vote for senetors and governors, so you would want to start at the bottom with people who share your beiefs, right?

Sharpton first gained national attention in 1987 when he supported Tawana Brawley, a 15-year-old black girl, who claimed she was gang raped by 6 white men, some of them cops, in the village of Wappingers Falls, New York. She fabricated the whole story, but Sharpton supported her till the end of the case. And he has never apologized for his involvment in the case. That was the beginning of his career, & hopefully this will be the end.

Rev. Al Sharpton is at the center of a federal investigation. The FBI & IRS want Sharpton's financial records dating back to 2001. The agencies' officials say they want to know whether Sharpton incorrectly stated the amount of money he raised during his 2004 presidential campaign. Officials are specifically investigating whether he fudged the figures in order to illegally obtain federal matching funds. Federal officials are also investigating claims of tax fraud, including whether Sharpton mixed funds from his non-profit group, National Action Network, with several of his "for-profit" ventures. As many as 10 of Sharpton's friends & employees have been subpoenaed; however Sharpton has not.

Simply round up all the nuts that buy into this "Global Warming" nonsense and blast them off to Mars -- that planet isn't going to need to worry about Global Warming anytime soon.

As an extra benefit to this plan, the United States will again become productive with hard working people striving to better their lifes, living the American Dream (Capitalism). Terrorists will be erraticated (automatic death penalty), taxes will go DOWN (since we're disposing of the slime via death penalty, there is no need to fund waste-of-space prisons) and life on Earth will drastically improve.

I can't see any flaws? We may get lucky and most of the space craft units will get lost on the way to Mars -- that way we wouldn't have to hear extraterrestrial communications moaning about "Global Colding"

Is it that a man with opinions is an easier target than the proven facts about Global Warming? If not then why are some people so afraid to face the hard facts of Global Warming?

The state dept. states that Halburton can not be held accountable for what happens in Iraq because they are not held under either Iraqi nor American laws.

Her name is: Jamie Leigh Jones...they drugged her, violently raped her and then forbid her to use the phone or press charges after she went to the clinic and had a rape kit performed. THEN she was LOCKED into a cell! This is an American woman who was trying to make something of her life. It wasn't until a sympathetic guard let her use his cell phone and where she called her parents and told them what had happened that she was actually freed after her Dad's intervention.

The rape kit came back positive, but the Dr. for a short period of time "Misplaced" the kit because, "there are so many rapes of American woman in Iraq that they would have a hard time finding the rape kit."

Britain has now overtaken America as the biggest donor to the world bank.Great! if you can afford it. But if we can afford it, why cant we afford to increase the budget, say,for Wales. and so make life better for poor people there? As the Welsh assembly have in real terms taken a cut in their budget. Or even give the Police a decent wage?

the wind is a changing and the people are a stirring. have we taken as much as we can stomach or are we just gonna roll over like dogs. We were once a nation of fighters but now we just take the crap for an easyier life. we need to take the streets back from the chavs and tell the goverment what they should be doing for us, not the other way round. tell yourself. " I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE." maybe once again we can be proud as a country.

It seems to me like conservatives are very scared right now. They resort to silly, anti-humanist expressions so often that it just makes them bankrupt. Example: Jonah Goldberg saying we should "Give War a Chance": http://www.neoflux.com/archive/data/2001/1009-102400.shtml

Isn't this just frightened insanity? Why do the conservatives have to defend the status quo and the current system so vociferously? Was there really a possibility of getting rid of war that needed a defense of it?

My point is this: How afraid are conservatives that they have to defend inhuman, brutal, and violent practices? Whether peace or war is appropriate, I'd rather have my goal as world peace than "giving war a chance." That's cowardly.

Here's my criteria for who I'll give best answer to:
1. I'll give the best answer to anyone that disagrees with me in a reasonable way.
2. If no one does, best answer goes to the person who agrees with me the most reasonable way.
3. whoever mentions Bush most.

the democractic candidates take the gloves off in the 2008 elections. Republicans (with the media's duplicity) always get to come off like they are the tough ones. The arguments often make no sense - but they are tough. Then the democrats like Kerry (sigh) come off with a good argument but bring it like an intellectual wimp. Who wants to see a democratic woop a** candidate? Who do you think that person is? I think Obama, personally. What do you think?
