Is it that a man with opinions is an easier target than the proven facts about Global Warming? If not then why are some people so afraid to face the hard facts of Global Warming?

Ok, here are some hard facts. I live in the farm land below the Rocky Mountains in Montana and I have seen with my own eyes the destruction of the crops from a drought condition off and on for the last 12 years. I have seen with my own eyes the devastation of the glaciers in Glacier National Park and of the glaciers for over 150 miles south along the Rocky Mountains where I camp in the summer. I have watched the level of the rivers drop to where they are dry by August. What are you going to do when there are no more glaciers to feed the rivers? What are you going to eat when there is no more grain or cattle coming from the farms and ranches?

The facts are everywhere that climate change is happening.
within the scientific community the debate on IF it is happening is OVER.
the only debate left is to what degree man made emissions are affecting it.
and if you know ANYTHING about chemistry, you can use very simple logic to deduce that burning fossil fuels, releasing tons of C02 and N3 into the atmosphere at the rate that humans do every day is going to have an impact.

Well Al finally put up and didn't shut up. He has finally retrofitted his mansion to be green and all that it entails. Of course he can afford to do so but his ivory tower prophesies of doom don't sit well with many. Were he a bit more likable perhaps his message would be more received by the average Jo & Jane.
You are correct it is a fact that Global Warming exsit. However it has exsited for countless years. Enviromentalist lost many battles for all of us to clean up or acts so they have developed a new marketing model that has conincided with the earths natural cycle. There is nothing wrong with promoting a cleaner more enviromentally friendly way of life but there isn't ANY proof that if we all went green tommorrow that Global Warming won't continue.

Why do you insist there are enough facts to support the theory as it pertains to mans effect on it? I think this is nothing more than taking advantage of a naturally occuring rise in global temps as a political tool. A bad political tool at that as the greatest known cause of any rise in global temps is the sun, which no man controls.

1.Because....if...and it's a long way to even if... MAN MADE global warming is real, then "Mr...there is no controlling legal authority...Gore" should be able to present FACTS that support that claim. He does not....he lies, misleads, invents half-truths ands makes 50 year projections based on last weeks headline.
So, show the facts, Al..
2. He is an ecological energy abuser of the highest order. He is a private citizen, running around the world in private jets...his mansion uses as much energy as some small towns...
If you are going to designate yourself as the authority and spokesman for this issue...shouldn't you at least practice what you preach?
In other words...he wants me to get up an hour earlier to make my mass transit train, trade my car in for one I have to plug in (electricity is not pollution free anyway)...spend a zillion dollars to make my house 'efficient'...I assume you get the point....while your 'fearless leader' does......nothing..but talk...
He is a hypocrite of the highest order, and a liar to boot....
that is why he is attacked..
EDIT EDIT EDIT
To Mr. What? above,,,,
Exxon pledged 16 million..
The Doris Duke Charities pledged 100 million to encourage man made global warming research and...for policy change regards forced energy policy changes..
In other words....not for finding the facts...but trying to prove the theory..and even before proving the theory..initiating policy change..
Which side is more beholdin' to the money there pardner?
PS...Doris Duke was also a tobacco heiress...like Gore...weird coincidence..
EDIT EDIT EDIT
The Ice and rivers are down because RAINFALL is way down....
The glaciers have been melting steadily since about 1890...the area's average temperature has increased about 1.5 degrees 1n 140 years....and the glaciers have been melting away for 140 years...
It's like ice in your glass....if you see ice in a glass that I put in 3 hours before...you don't realize that much of what was there had already melted away.....so when what is left melts in a few minutes, you get the wrong impression of a long process. The ice that was there 10 years ago was only a fraction of what was there 140 years ago...only since we didn't have global warming before then...no one cared.
Right the arctic ice has gotten smaller....but the antarctic ice is a RECORD high....I guess global warming is only limiting itself to the northern hemisphere....
Lake McDonald in Glacier Park froze over for the first time in more than 10 years last winter....if it's getting so much warmer...how can that be....

For some people accepting the truth is just not that easy. And some are just too stupid to care. And then there are those (like me) that believe him. I guess some people say he is just doing it for the money. But even if he is, don't we want to protect our Earth? I don't want any "Day After The Tomorrow" stuff happening here, and even if the global warming effects wouldn't be that drastic, don't we want to prevent something like that from happening?

It's very difficult to accept the "hard facts" as you and Gore see them since there are an equal number of scientists that have an entirely different opinion on the validity of the global warming threat.

Because it's so easy to attack a guy who lives in a mansion the size of a department store and flys around in a private jet all the while demanding that the "little people" live in trailers and ride bicycles. Or as he puts it " Are you ready to change the way you live?" HOW ABOUT YOU FIRST GORE!

How come the followers of the Global Warming cult refuse to believe that there are actually SCIENTISTS that refute pope Al's claims?
Talk about "blind faith!"
