Only a military medical board can evaluate weather your condition will disqualify you for military service. If it is a condition that is controlable with meds (and yes you can be on certain meds in basic training) then you may have a shot at getting in with a medical waiver. However, you may not be able to qualify for certain jobs. You may be able to qualify for admin type jobs or supply.

Unfortunately that is a disqualifying condition. The reasoning behind it is that the meds might not always be available. For instance if you are scheduled to deploy for 6 months, you would make sure that you would have enough meds to cover that alotted time. However, if the deployment gets extended for any multitude of reasons, you might not get the extra meds in time and find yourself in a bad situation. It is a preventative position that makes sure that no personnel are put in unnecessary dangerous situations. Good luck in your further ventures.

Current hypothyroidism NOT controlled by medication is disqualifying. You're O.K. on that score.
