The state dept. states that Halburton can not be held accountable for what happens in Iraq because they are not held under either Iraqi nor American laws.
Her name is: Jamie Leigh Jones...they drugged her, violently raped her and then forbid her to use the phone or press charges after she went to the clinic and had a rape kit performed. THEN she was LOCKED into a cell! This is an American woman who was trying to make something of her life. It wasn't until a sympathetic guard let her use his cell phone and where she called her parents and told them what had happened that she was actually freed after her Dad's intervention.
The rape kit came back positive, but the Dr. for a short period of time "Misplaced" the kit because, "there are so many rapes of American woman in Iraq that they would have a hard time finding the rape kit."

Pony...Please answer the question, or don't answer at all. This question has nothing to do with Clinton, it has to do with what is happening over in Iraq to the women who are over there trying to do their job.

What does Clinton have to do with this question? I said H A L B U R T O N EMPLOYEES OVER IN IRAQ. As far as I am concerned, Bill Clinton is old news. Yes, he should have been held accountable. But, again, I don't see what this has to do with the question I asked.
I DO agree that the big question should be how many women didn't come forward because they were scared to and threatened.

winndee..don't assume something which you don't have any idea about. The facts stand that a sovereign nation is just that. It is not the duty of another nation to tell another one how to go forward and what laws to enact and which ones not to.
Although through world pressure, it IS able to change certain outcomes...like the teacher who let her students name the bear "Mohammad"

Heh. I love how men also complain about "Why can't women get drafted?"; "Why don't women have to fight on the front lines?"
Then we send them over there into the male bastion called war and this is what happens. Our OWN MEN can't even respect them enough to let them be and let them do their jobs. Instead, the women get harrassed - and worse. It's truly disgusting. I've read about one or two other cases of female *soldiers* raped - one black woman killed - by her fellow (probably male) soldiers. wtf is wrong with these guys? We supposedly want the women over there working with us. So what the hell.
And Americans get indignant about how Middle Easterners treat their women. Take a look around, pals.

I imagine there is almost as much scum from america in iraq as there is in america.
Bad people all over.
Hope that woman makes it back to america safe and without any extra baggage. I guess you can expect an occasional rpg to fly by your head and a human IED every once in a while, but being raped by members of haliburton doesn't cross the mind. Its pitiful.
Although I did make money off haliburton stock when jim cramer recommended it :D
Thanks for the story, you have an ear to the tracks as always.

Unfortunately, it seems many might, because I don't think anyone in the White House is concerned about the ordinary American citizen. Even the homeless people in New York received oil for the winter from Venezuela and not from their own wealthy, spoiled and selfish government.

This is very much horrible. But Halburton is being protected by none other than evil, criminal and blood thirsty Dick Cheney who runs our country behind Bush's back. I wonder if congress will do anything about it. Just read those answers given here by evil Republican Neocons. They simply just do not care about the rape fact, all hey care is to smear Bill Clinton, George Soros and others. I hope that this lady will get some justice.

Sad, isn't it?
I still cannot figure out how Bush & Co. made rape legal, there must be some sort of penalty. If not for the rapists, than the idiots who gave the rapists immunity from prosecution.
If I were a woman working for KBR (or another contractor in Iraq) I would quit and demand transport under military guard back to the US immediately.

It very sad, but look at how much blood is on the hands of Bu$H and his cronies already

Halliburton is a company and is incapable of rape. That being said, if the woman was raped then it is tragic and the individual responsible should be prosecuted ASAP.
However, given all the conspiracy theories you libs post about the "evil" Halliburton, I have my doubts about the legitimacy of it.
If true, it's not a political issue (the libs will claim it is) but a criminal issue.
If true, I would support the death penalty for the rapist, would you?
