My words:

Prior to the Iraq invasion, 80% of Iranians were totally against Ahmadinejad. Now, he draws standing room only supporters to his appearances.

Is this a direct result of Bush's foreign policy?

Would you vote for an atheist for President?
If you agreed with him on other issues? What if the choice were a white atheist Republican who opposed abortion vs. a pro-choice, african-american Christian Dem?

He's too young now but after watching both High School Musicals, he seems to be one to keep his head in the game which is very important in a post 9/11 world, and he also says we can bet on him being the type of guy to means what he says. He also got Vanessa Hudgens to send him dirty pictures of herself. If this doesn't speak to his diplomatic skills, I don't know what will.

We have LOST the "War on Drugs."

The Mafia was dying out at the turn of the last century. Prohibition brought them back from the dead.

The street gangs were dying out in the 1970s. The start of the "War on Drugs" in the 1980s brought THEM back from the dead.

Isn't it time we stopped spending so much more money on drug-related police and prison operations than on poverty programs, cancer research, and the space program COMBINED? Shouldn't we be spending that money on treatment and rehab instead?

If drugs were legal, wouldn't people with drug problems be more likely to seek help from a doctor or a psychiatrist, because they wouldn't be worried about prosecution?

Are politicians more interested in sounding "tough" than in actually helping to REDUCE the drug problem?

Is that why a "war on drugs" and not rehab and treatment?

Do you think those of us who bought houses we could actually afford, saved up for a decent down payment, paid our bills on time and qualified for a decent fixed rate mortgage will get a tax break or something out of this latest bail-out deal?

Which do you think would do more to prevent people from shooting a bunch of people then committing suicide:

1- More gun control laws. (Preventing unstable people from buying guns and mandating that gun owners keep their guns locked up)
2- Banning the media from publishing shooters' names (like they do in some court cases with juveniles) so that nobody will think they can get famous by pulling that kind of stunt.

With warlords all over the world massacring people who don't agree with them, why did the US parade into Iraq and pretend that the purpose was to give "freedom" to Iraqis? Is anyone still pretending that this had anything to do with morality and if so why are they still so incredibly ignorant?
