No. I don't think there is anything wrong with him being religious. At least he stands up for what he believes in.

I am not Mormon, but if I had been raised in a Mormon home, I might feel differently about their religion.

He is fine and I don't think that his religion will interfere at all.

"There can be no fellowship between Mormon and Christian. They cannot exist under the same social system. They cannot be partners in political power." Mormonism's Journal of Discourses, 2: 207.

It seems to me that his policies are too much based upon the priorities of political pragmatism, rather than the precepts of the perfect word of God (the Bible, not the Book of Mormon), as his stands on major things have not always been consistent, and seem to have changed to fit political objectives, as often did his time in office here as governor. .

Mitt also both promised to be faithful to the Constitution as well as his faith, which will surely conflict.

The delusion that politicians seek to pass off on the public is that one can believe one thing but not have it affect their actions. Yet what you do manifests what you really believe. Thus political pragmatism is their religion, which leads to the State religion of secularism supplanting the general Christian faith as the overriding authority (there can be no separation the way groups like the ACLU seek top implement it against the Bible).

In Mitt's case, if he really believes J. Smith was a prophet of God and the Book of Mormon is true, then it must affect his decisions and judgments.

And as Mormonism was founded upon the premise of it's singular correctness, and considers itself superior to all (but is clearly critically different than Biblical Christian faith*), thus they thus need not be pacifists in defending their faith, even as they took up arms (Smith died shooting at attackers) and murdered immigrants** and thousands prepared to fight against the US army***

However, the likelihood of that happening is nill, as log as Bible believing Christians can correct them, and is to be preferred over atheism, which lacks an objective, transcendent authority for it's morality, but can only assure if it will do what is "reasonable" (which atheists like Stalin demon-strated can be very murderously pragmatic),

A true Christian must go by the Bible, by the Spirit of Christ. And by which the Biblical church killed no one, but loved others and truth in living for Him who died for them and rose again. Bless the Lord.

Just my opinion.

If some actually believes that god came to some guy in upstate NY and told him that there were gold plates buried in the side of a hill outside or Rochester that had the record of Jesus Christ's account with the Native Americans. And he was the only one that could translate them and then the plates disappeared.

I would have some concerns about his judgment ability.

I do not like Romney because of the way he cooperated with the Dems when he was governor (like the health care program). It has nothing to do with his faith.

A person of real faith is influenced by the faith, a person with out faith is influenced by that lack of faith. It has to be a factor, but not the only one.
