Ahmadinejad: rock star in rural Iran
http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20071207/ts_csm/opopulist

My words:

Prior to the Iraq invasion, 80% of Iranians were totally against Ahmadinejad. Now, he draws standing room only supporters to his appearances.

Is this a direct result of Bush's foreign policy?

Of course it is.

Bush has a unique ability to get the exact opposite of his desired result from whatever he gets involved with. Hence the endless list of oil company failures, failure at Presidency, failure at functioning by the rule of law, let alone the US Constitution....

I coin it the ''anti-Midas Touch".

Edit...What a surprise...Pfo is "skeptical" of a perfectly reasonable assertion in a perfectly reasonable article

you're misinformed in many cases. President Karzai of Afghanistan is wide-unfold in maximum circles to be corrupt. In each and all the time that he has led Afghanistan, he has no longer executed something to deliver the country to a extra non violent, cohesive state, yet truly has inspired the warlords and the poppy farmers, siphoning money from the two. i think of that allowing Turkey and different international places, even Iran, to return to the table and connect in discussions would be a stunning thank you to end dissimilar the themes interior the international. bear in techniques Bush and his..."militia action is on the table!"....nicely, thankfully, his table is now out of city! international family is the thank you to handle it, or maybe Hugo Chavez merits a huge gamble to communicate his techniques. dealt with in any different case, Chavez would have acted in any different case. maximum of your proceedings are in basic terms social gaffes, which occurs to absolutely everyone and every physique. the place Obama is worried, he's fairly-enjoyed by the international. I doubt if there is the different international chief which could draw such crowds. truly some the above became Bush's fault, with the aid of fact his thought of international family became to brandish his sword and rattle sabres. A schoolyard bully at heart and overly subservient to Cheney, he mishandled very almost each little thing he touched upon.

Millions of people think Ahmadinejad is a star? Well, however it came about, you can't fix stupid people.

People who opposed him before and then start supporting him just because they perceive him as winning over the American president are stupid. You can't fix stupid bigoted nonAmericans. That's a problem in this world. Anti-Americanism is seen as an attribute. Canadian politics have been campaigning on anti-Americanism for decades. I also think it had a lot to do with Rudd's win in Australia. These are people who would cut their nose off to spite their face.

He's a rock star in the outskirts of Iran because hes the only game in some backwater Iranian collection of huts.

Remember when Bush was given a hero's welcome in Albania? Would you use that as evidence that Bush's popularity was soaring around the world? I didn't think so. This is Ahmadinejad's Albania.

I just read that article, I'm somewhat skeptical. If you'll note, all the places that love him he's recently donated lots of money to. And they have a state-sponsored media, which is basically his. I know young Iranians and liberal Iranians in general don't like him. Perhaps he won over their conservative base, but I'm still skeptical he's a rock star.

This is getting so far out of hand. I read in a posted the other day from a young mother that "Bush caused he baby to wet in her diapers at night".

Well the average person has to have someone to balme for their condition..so why not pick the one every body else has chosen..

GET REAL...
