My husband is a USA citizen and My Conditional Green card expired on October 2007. I applied for my I 751, and according to Nebraska Center it looks like it is going to be taking long time, my NOA is 06/14 and i did my finger prints in 07/07 , I want to join the navy but i don,t know if they will accept me or not since the Immigration gave me only an extention letter to work and travel for 1 year. Military contract are 2-8years, i don,t want to loose a recuiruter time about this. So do you think I can join while my I751 is in process????

The other day the cops came out to my house for a domestic dispute... (dont wanna get into details)
But anyways... i told an aunt what happened and shes very angry and wants to know whats going on...
I gave her the name of the cop that came out, my address, the time they came out ect. She called the none emergencie number for the cops and got the phone number of the cop that came out to our house...
She left him a voicemail asking whats happening ect.
If he calls my aunt back, can he tell her information about what happened? the incident and other things? or is there a privacy law? thanks so much!

If it is, could you show me where it says that? I'm genuinely curious, since they're such a big part of the service work force in California.

I have had it with Yahoo stupidity in not able to understand a simple problem. How can a customer doesn't receive enough information on an invoice and the company representitives who do not understand simple english let alone able to respond with a proper answer. This is the last time I will order anything on line especially with Yahoo involved. I ordered the products from Diamond Walnut website and will report the hassel I have gone thru because they will listen to me. I have spent 3 hours being hasseled by your company making a mistake when a simple 2 minuted phone call would have solved the problem

My son just left for Iraq. Before he left, he asked us to fly our flag at half mast. I am a army veteran. I do not believe that we should do this. So my question is: Should we do this in honor of our son serving overseas or not.

Okay, this is a very specific question, so bear with me.

My exact plan (and I would like to know if it is possible) is to enlist into the Army after I graduate from high school in 2009, serve out 4 years active duty, and get the GI Bill.

After that, I will come back home, attend a local community college for 2 years(with transfer agreements to (hopefully) UC Berkeley), keep up a good GPA and finish all my lower division req., and then apply as a full-transfer student to Berkeley for my Junior and Senior years.

Can I actually go about doing this? Any more advice on getting the military to help pay for my education? Thanks

Isn't this practise making a mockery of our budgetary processes, and is this practise due to the fact that lobyists have more to say on how the gov't. is run than the taxpayers?

It took it a while to sink in, but I think I enjoy the community that is Y!A, checking my ideas against others', getting a feel for what is going on out there.

Plus, it's an education in many ways. We're fortunate to have a lot of great info here and a lot of wonderfully creative posters, imo.

Why do you come back?

Is hewing to the Parties line fanatically hurting our gov't. and does it diminish the voter's say in things to nothing or even less?

If people refused to buy at those prices in the first place, that would have forced prices back down to reality. Instead, Californians kept trying to one-up their peers with homes they could not afford which inflated the prices. I lived there and saw it. I told my Cali realtor I'd rent before spending half a millon on those junk houses, 750k for a decent sized house. Others should have too.

By bailing out these wanna-be showboats, the bail-out will partially prevent the prices to be reduced to normal. Am I wrong?

Today in a press conference, while discussing a Home Mortgage Agreement designed to help home owners in today's financial crunch, Bush Jr stated the program is not for ppl that got mortgages they knew they couldn't afford.

Now... I'm kind of scratching my head here....

Why make a program to only help ppl THAT CAN AFFORD their mortgage... this is not making sense to me.

1. Like who on Earth would say, "Oh let's get that mortgage so we can lose our house because we KNOW we can't afford it."

2. Half the problem is admittedly due to banks giving mortgages THEY KNEW the ppl might not be able to afford.
