Rather teach them to have world-embracing vision. Better that they inform and educate themselves about what they are getting into when they become involved in partisan politics. Our systems are lamentably, pathetically defective, built on out-dated models of nation building when the need of this age is planet building. Their time would be better spent in conceiving and creating a new kind of government system that is in tune with the age in which we live and will enable us to bring justice to all peoples and peace and prosperity to the world through understanding the oneness of humanity and all that implies. Youth should be allying with and devoting their energies to groups and organizations whose goals are to unite humanity and bring justice to all.

Go to your local campaign election office for your favorite candidate and volunteer. They will love to have you...you may be assigned to take out leaflets and flyers or put up signs on peoples lawns for that candidate (with permission of course - people actually request them!!!). All the grunt work that the candidates and paid helpers don't want to do.

Since they can't vote ,I would suggest writing letters to the editor of their local newspaper or directly to their congressman or senator about issues they are concerned about.Or protesting peacefully if they are unhappy about certain laws that pass. In most areas they can also go to town meetings and voice their opinions and talk to council members directly.
