Hello,
Thank you in advance for taking time to answer my question.
My husband is a USA citizen and My Conditional Green card expired on October 2007. I applied for my I 751, and according to Nebraska Center it looks like it is going to be taking long time, my NOA is 06/14 and i did my finger prints in 07/07 , I want to join the navy but i don,t know if they will accept me or not since the Immigration gave me only an extention letter to work and travel for 1 year. Military contract are 2-8years, i don,t want to loose a recuiruter time about this. So do you think I can join while my I751 is in process????
Please let me know. Thank you very much

I am pretty sure you will be unable to do anything until you get your Permanent Green Card. Like you said, contracts are for 8 years, and having a one year extension will not be enough, unless you can also provide documentation that your Permanent status will be approved.

You ask a recruiter, they are willing to talk to anyone who is looking to serve. It won't take that long to know what your options will be. Personally, it think there is no help for you; as there are already serious mental issues with you, of alllll the services you want to join the NAVY?

You will have to be issued a resident alien visa based on your being married to a U.S. citizen before any recruiter will even talk to you. Only U.S. citizens and resident aliens can enter the armed forces of the U.S.

I wish I had the answers you are looking for, but the recruiter may be the one to help you out....You can always talk to them about it, and they would let you know from the start i'm sure...
