Is hewing to the Parties line fanatically hurting our gov't. and does it diminish the voter's say in things to nothing or even less?

I never understood that, I believe one thing, along with the vast majority of the people in my area, but my representitive is going to just vote whatever way his party wants to. How is that representing our views?

I guess it depends on if You are a conservative or a liberal.

Liberals want their representatives to represent them.

Conservatives want their representatives to have the strenght of their party's convictions and hold to the party line.
