If it is, I would hope that there would be no enforcement. Businessmen should not have to waste their time and money trying to determine if the government thinks a particular employee is legal, nor should prospective employees have to carry around ID like in a dictatorship just to get a job.

If they're so concerned about illegal immigration being a problem, why not ban them from receiving government programs and allow them to cross the borders freely to work?

There are large fines for hiring illegals, or even for hiring a legal resident if you don't check the documentation.

There is a federal law against hiring illegal immigrants.

The problem is, how do you know if they are illegal immigrants or not.

You can buy fake drivers licenses and SS cards for as little as $400.00.

Business's have no way of checking to see if they are valid or not.
