If you think only immigrants are willing to do back-breaking work, you need to take a look at the people who work in coal mines and road construction. These are good paying jobs with benefits.
Employers can get away with paying immigrants terribly low wages that lack benefits because the employers know they won't complain. It's not that Americans won't do some of these jobs, it's that they can't afford to support a family on those wages.

I won't. I have a job.
But I see no reason why immigrants and teens including my children can't.
I had no problem stringing barbed wire, tossing hay bales, and shoveling cr*p when I was a kid, and neither did my brothers or friends.
When we were kids we also worked trimming Christmas trees. Not any more, now illegals do the job and our kids are sh*t out of luck.
Illegals shouldn't be doing any jobs in America and anyone who says different is full of Cr*p. This is just a pitiful excuse to justify lawbreaking.
I really don't give two sh*ts for illegals or their kids.
Mine come first.

I don't care who is picking the fruits, just so long as they are in this nation legally and hired legally. What is wrong with wanting people to follow the laws of this nation if they wish to live in it????

Legal immigrants picking fruits in the field is fine if that is what they care to work at.
However, Illegal criminal aliens must simply go home.
Round up and deport.

I'll plant my own garden, before I'll support farms that hire illegal aliens. I buy from local small farms that are family run and reputable for hiring legal immigrants & citizens, and pick-your-own places, and can or freeze as much as possible. I don't buy stuff from other areas unless I absolutely have to.

well being that i am a landscaper i am planting things all day everyday. just about every aspect of my job is hard work in the hot sun.
oh and by the way...
i am white
i am American
and i love my job
so i don't want to hear all this bull about jobs that americans won't do.

I enjoy doing it in my own garden and orchard.
If payed well enough, I'd do it.
(It needs to be year around work though, I can't stand part time work. I truly love working at things I like.)
