I served 355 days in Iraq..my jobs included badging NCO at front gate(screened all Iraqis coming aboard the FOB and ran the Gate for a inept staff NCO). Did the Public relations for our company(was published),wrote awards, and at the same time conducted gun truck missions providing convoy security (was a gun truck commander)...Oh yeah and carried a 20 pound SAW which landed me in guard towers as a NCO. After all of this why do I still feel like I have to explain myself to be a Vet of the WAR and not just a service member that served during war time. I ALOMST GOT KILLED !!! MORE THAN 1 TIME! and possibly by my decisions saved many lives...why do I feel like I am not deserving of Veterans accolades?? PLEASE NO NASTY COMMENTS. For anyone who has questions..the gate was the first 4 months and the missions were the last 8 months.

I fell on the school grounds on a patch of ice, there was no sand, gravel or salt down. There is this drain pipe that drains water onto a slooped sort of drive way.The school has made complaints for two years now and nothing has been done yet.I ruptured my achilles tendon and am in a cast for four to six months.then I will be in a big boot for who knows how long.Taking physo.for the next year or so.I can't get around so I bought a wheelchair and I have two bathrooms but one is down the basement and the other is upstairs further away.My bedroom is on the main floor. This has caused a big problem in our family,as I do all the cooking ,laundry, cleaning, shopping, etc.I am the cook at christmas time,I can't do my shopping.I can't even have a shower my tubs are too high to put my leg out so it won't get wet. What shall I do.

I quit a job with a large company 2 months ago. They have continued to direct deposit paychecks into my account. I am certain that this is not severance pay, vacation pay or anything like that - I only worked there a month. I was an hourly employee. I have not found another job as expected and I have used the money to live on. I may have signed something saying that they could reverse direct deposits that were incorrect, but I am not sure. I closed the checking account they were depositing the money into and my bank started putting it in my savings account. I don't want to contact them - because I dont have the money right now to give back to them. Other than request the money back, is there anything they can do? I know they can attempt to withdraw the money (its not there), but is there anything else?

Ok. i live in a apt. its not a big building. only two floors and 4 apts on each side. Last month the police was by the carport. come to find out a teenage boy was doing drugs and burning things right next to the cars parked there. well now he is back and his mom is not around much (she works tons). so anyways i notice that he has tons of people who are coming and going from his apt. usually i do not take notice as to things like this, but something does not seem right. I am not the type of person to call the police about every little thing, but i wonder if i should this time. i really do not like a bunch of strangers coming and going like that. I am not the only one worried about this. Should i call the police? thanks!

So a friend of mine (16 yrs old) was skipping school with some friends and went to his dads apartment to hang out. ( his dad wasn't home) and then he got hold of his dad .357 magnum revolver, and was messing around with it. Knowing that the gun was loaded, he pointed it at his girlfriend and said " i am going to shoot u", but he was only playing around. He then pulled the trigger, and shot her in the chest. she died. but hes locked up now. his court date is arriving soon. see the thing is, he didnt want to kill her, he had no intention of it wat-so-ever. he thought the bullets were in another chamber or something ( i dont rly know how the gun works) but he was thought it would'nt fire if he pulled the trigger, cuz they gun was set on something else.

how would you decide a case like this? wat do u think they guy should get for his action? how long or wat?

i think its punishment enough that he has to go his whole life knowing he killed someone.

Today is a joyous day for those who longed for the end of the tyrant, John Howards dictator-like rule of Australia.

11 long years we have suffered at his hands. Introducing the GST with no warning on top of other taxes instead of abolishing them as 'promised'. Taking away our hard fought for rights at work, forcing honest, hard-working Australians onto AWA's and into feeling like second class citizens, while the his big business fat-cat friends lined their pockets and coffers with money that was rightfully ours. Lying bare-faced about promises he never intended to keep during campaigns, saying they were not "core" promises, and therefore did not have to be kept. Sending our sons, daughters, brothers and sisters away to a foreign country, to fight in an illegal war.
Constantly boasting of a budget surplus but doing NOTHING with it to help our country in need in this dire time of continual drought and climate change.

Good bye Mr Howard.
You will not be missed.

AND HAPPY RUDD DAY!

The topic of the Second Amendment is the right of the People to keep and bear arms. But the media likes to try to distract people with the first part which refers to a militia. In the latter 18th. century a militia was all able-bodied men between 18 and 50, who were expected to be well ordered (supplied with ordinance) and able to fight.

Now if we apply a less exotic interpretation to the First Amendment which among other things guarantees freedom of the press, we find that television and radio as well as the internet would be excluded because they don't use printing presses.

I find what I see dramatized on the evening "news" to be a lot more of a threat to freedom than my neighbor's handguns.

How do you think the First Amendment should be applied? Should that part of the entertainment industry called broadcast news be omitted?

I know it was stupid but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I'm 16, two of my friends are also 16, and one of us is 15.
Well me and these friends were going to ding dong ditch a house, one chosen at completely random.
Once again, It was a stupid thing but I didn't really think it was that big of a deal.
One of us went to the door, two(one of which was me) just stayed on the sidewalk, and another was across the street.
They turned out to not have a doorbell so my friend just knocked twice, loudly and in rapid succession.
Him and the two of us on the sidewalk went to hide.
We waited for a while and nothing in the house changed, so we just got up and left.
Well halfway down the street the lady opens her door and starts screaming at us. So we then run away.
Couple minutes later I see police lights flashing and I figure they are here for us, so I burst out into a full run and take an indirect path to my house. One of my friends follows...

One more analogy and then I will get to the point.
Our government is like a machine and our politicians are kind of like software. Corporation's then play the roll of spy ware and trojan horses, lobbyist are similar to malware.

Question: What is the point of installing a program into a broken system?
We need to run a virus scan and remove invasive adversary's to the constitution.
Please vote for Ron Paul 2008. It makes no difference what your stances are. Rob Paul is the malware doctor. He is the the tool that virus fear. No spy ware no gimmicks and no attachments.
After things are sorted out, you may elect whomever you want to represent you.

There has been a premise in politics over the decades that Americans have had a limited amount of money to spend. That no longer is true. In recent days, we have learned that the US has spent more on this Iraq/Afgan war than on anything ever before, and we are not being asked to raise taxes. The dollar is at an all time low against other currencies but it doesn't seem to hurt the US economy. Interest rates are not going up. There is actually deflation in prices (homes), rather than inflation (except for gasoline, due to overseas inflation). Unemployment is low and steady. This extreme spending without consequese demonstrates there is really no need to make a choice on what to spend the money on, since we can apparantly afford both guns and butter. What are your thoughts?
