the pens are given out as souvenirs, seriously that's what your tax dollars pay for.

Governors have many pens given as gifts or souvenirs giving him many choices to pick when signing bills.

so they can pass out the pens as a keepsake. The president does the same thing. Wonder how much of our tax dollars are spent on pens? Between the president and all the states it must add up to a bundle. Let's face it, there not cheap pens.

So he can give them out to VIPs who have an interest in the bill he's signing. You'll usually see people standing behind the politician when they're signing the bill. Those are the people who get the pen as a memento.

being wasteful.. i`m sure those pens are expensive.. but they sign a bill with a different pen so they can give them out as souvenirs... i think they should just by a pack of bics and use those.. theres a tax savings don`t ya think?
