Ok. i live in a apt. its not a big building. only two floors and 4 apts on each side. Last month the police was by the carport. come to find out a teenage boy was doing drugs and burning things right next to the cars parked there. well now he is back and his mom is not around much (she works tons). so anyways i notice that he has tons of people who are coming and going from his apt. usually i do not take notice as to things like this, but something does not seem right. I am not the type of person to call the police about every little thing, but i wonder if i should this time. i really do not like a bunch of strangers coming and going like that. I am not the only one worried about this. Should i call the police? thanks!

The pattern of activity you have observed suggests that the boy you have observed is dealing drugs. Don't say anything to the boy or to anyone who comes to see him, or you may become a target -- you don't want him to know that you were the one who filed a complaint. Be sure to tell the police you want your name kept confidential, to avoid reprisals.
Talk with a detective at your local police department, not the desk officer. If the police take your complaint seriously and do some quiet observation, they may be able to determine whether the activities you have observed are actually drug dealing. If they determine that the boy is actually dealing drugs or engaging in other unlawful activity, they may be able to arrest additional people higher up the chain of supply, maybe even one of the big-time dealers.
The one you have seen is the small-fry dealer -- it may not make much difference if he is the only one the police arrest, since there's always someone else who can take up the spot near your home. But if the police interrupt the chain of supply two or three levels higher, it could make a big difference.

If you suspect that he is dealing drugs, by all means, call them and ask what to do. Even if he is only using, call them in any case. It sounds as though the "burning things" may very well be that he was making crack. Whether or not you're the only one who feels the way you do is not the issue. The issue is YOUR safety in this type of situation. He may be the most harmless teenager in the world but cocaine brings strange animals out to cop wherever they can. You never know what these people bring with them in the way of weapons. This speaks to your security as a tenant there. Alert the landlord as well and begin to document this so you can discover if there are other complaints about him. Tell the landlord about the police being there. Good luck!

Get all your neighbors involved in calling the police so this way he will not have any idea who rated on him. Also you have to be very careful if you live alone you may find someone in your apt when you come home at night and it won't be a cat or a dog.

The dude's already been busted by the cops for doing stupid stuff. Chances are he's doing even more stupid stuff and could be breaking the law. Call the cops. Also, if your neighbors are also concerned they should call the cops too. The more people who lodge a complaint the quicker the cops will follow through.

I think you should call anonymously and let the police know that the kid got in trouble with drugs before and that now that he's back, there's a lot of traffic in and out of that apartment. They'll take it from there.

If you are uncomfortable about all the strangers coming and going, by all means mention it to the police. They might keep an eye on things, and I would think they would appreciate it.

If it's making you feel uncomfortable and unsafe, then yes I would call the police. If you're under 18, I would ask your parents first or ask them to call the police. Take care!

Make a report. More than likely the kid is on probation and the police will be required to report anything to his probation officer to be dealt with.
Better yet, get ahold of your local probation and parole office and ask if the kid is on probation. If they ask why tell them the specifics and that you have a report to make regarding him.
He will never know who called or if it was just luck for his probation officer to check up on him.
