If she cannot keep her mate faithfull to a marriage, how can she expect to keep dictators faithfull to agreements?

this is directed towards states that give tuition discounts to illegal immigrants and the question is directed at the us govt, not at any immigrants. as a us citizen could i go thru some sort of process to get mexico to make me a mexican citizen and then would i be entitled to tuition discounts? or would the us tell me that i am not a real illegal immigrant?

I see so many people making assumptions without the basic knowledge to back it up. First lesson; in government, common sense is nonexistent. This does not mean that government makes no sense: it simply means that your definitions of words are not always consistent with the legal term.

This being said, does anybody here truly comprehend how war works in our legal structure?
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, in a recent announcement, said that without funding from Congress, they would have to make several layoffs. This question is not aimed at him, but instead at people's reactions.
The first thing people I've talked to have said is "Congress needs to support the war, Congress needs to give more money, etc."
Unless we are in an official state of war (which we aren't) Congress has to constantly re approve every single increment of money sent over. This is the only leverage Congress as over the war right now. If in a state of war, Bush would become supreme commander. Look it up :D Justin

And maybe the presidential peopleshould mention it, doesn't matter where it started, it must stop, my friend had a rough time getting anyone here at the VA. If they cannot do anything then get out all of them. If we throw BP agents in jail then they can be also. You know how in the H*ll could they let Walter Reed go down so bad. what in the world are they thinking. I have always said that some stuff that Bush does seems like a robot and then the administration does weird stuff. It's like they don't want to offend anyone, except the ones that matter. The Congress people better get their act together.

getting into federal Law Inforcement is a goal of mine but I'm trying to figure out which branch would be right for me. a few I have considered are the US Marshals, border patrol, and the DEA. I want a job that can physically and mentally challenge me and I'm also an outdoors person so I don't want to spend most my time behind a desk doing paper work so which one would be suitable for me?

We pipe oil and gas across the country for thousands of miles. Some parts of the country are drowning in rain runoff while others are whithering with drought. What is so complex about establishing a series of large reservoirs and pump water from areas with too much to areas that have too little?

Look around how many do you see working now Employers will always seek out cheaper workers if they know they can get away with it. There is only so many allowed in per year legally so how can a town get a 10 percent increase in legal immigrants. They can’t, you wonder why you’re your paying more for schools, doctors, hospital care. They are the ones causing it. So don’t give me the line they enriched my life. This is a nation of laws and it appears the pro's are satisfied with illegals not playing by the rules. This is not fair to the legal American citizen who cannot make a decent wage to support their families. This is not fair to the immigrants playing by the rules to enter the country legally. If our elected officials offer amnesty for breaking the rules why not offer forgiveness and no jail time to American citizens currently in our jails? They can also claim they did the crime to make a better life for their families and that very well may be the case. You can not pick and choose what laws should be obeyed or are ILLEGALS above our laws?? "

I surf all the different categories, and every now and then I see an inappropriate question or answer in other categories. But in Politics, I'd estimate that half include profanity, insults, rudeness or other inappropriate content. I have my own opinions, which I often share, but I manage to do so without any of this nonsense. Are people really so inarticulate that they can't find words to express themselves that won't get them reported? Do people really imagine that they're going to influence anyone's opinion by calling them vile names? Or is this all just adolescent posturing?

Wouldn't having a unified system enormously reduce the cost of bureaucracy and the vast paperwork from so many different insurance carriers?

Just because other countries have problems with their systems doesn't mean we CAN'T improve on their problems and use what works.

There is a way to approach this to make it beneficial for all involved.
We have very intelligent people in our country in the public and private sector who are up to the challenge.

Isn't this really better for every American in the long run? Less cost for care and less room for the Pharmaceutical companies to strongarm drug prices with only one domestic buyer?
