This question is not to offend anyone, but I want to ask some very serious questions about the future of India and Indians.
The British left the country more than 60 years ago, but this country still don't have a truly world class city. About 79.9% people are living on less than 2$ per day per person. 47% children born in India are malnourished, and this figure is even worse than the sub saharan African countries.
Almost the whole country is a war zone. Terrorists, Naxalities, ULFAs and other N-E terror outfits are targeting the innocent citizins and they can target everywhere.
Still 60% of Indians don't have sanitation facilities.
More than half of the country is without electricity connections (and even those who have connections are not getting 24 hour supply).
Farmers still commit suicides, people still need to learn THE foreign language to get jobs as in the British period.
So I want to ask what do the Indians hope for the future?
Will India exist as a one united country?

The Provocative Act doctrine does not require prosecutors to prove the accused intended to kill. Instead, "they have to show that it was reasonably foreseeable that the criminal enterprise could trigger a fatal response from the homeowner," said Brian Getz, a San Francisco defense attorney unconnected to the case.

Sound like a very reasonable, common sense anti-crime measure, doesn't it? Well, the NAACP doesn't seem to think so:

LAKEPORT, Calif. (AP) -- Three young black men break into a white man's home in rural Northern California. The homeowner shoots two of them to death - but it's the surviving black man who is charged with murder.

The NAACP complained that prosecutors came down too hard on Hughes, who also faces robbery, burglary and assault charges

First the Jena incident, and now this...does the NAACP now exist solely to excuse or trivialize criminal behavior?

"We're asking a lot of soldiers these days," said Roy Wallace, director of plans and resources for Army personnel. "They're humans. They have all sorts of issues back home and other places like that. So, I'm sure it has to do with the stress of being a soldier."

Other places like that?

Good night and good grief.

....That our current health care system is a benefit/service for Americans and not just a HUGE money making scam...I mean business? Can you honestly say that hospitals are charging people fairly? Do you really think that all the charges on your medical bills are only for the services you received and that your not being charged for every pillow case, sponge, Q-tip, light bulb or every time a nurse/doctor comes in your room.....???? Did you know emergency rooms charge you just for sitting in the waiting room?? Is it better to wait to see a doctor that will not cost you anything .... or waiting to die, because you can't afford to see a doctor????....Something has to change.

does anyone seriously think socialistic programs and socialist ideas are compatible with our republic and constitution. If socialism is so great why has every country practicing it gone broke, and are running from it. Europe is a great example, over burdening taxes, stagnant economies, huge unemployment, low GDP. Do you think Benjamine Franklin or HOMAS Jefferson would approve of socialism or call for a revolution to stop it?

I a retiree from the Belvidere Local 1268 feel that
Sen. Obama lacks experience for dealing with our world policies and if we were to have him as president would be to push our great American country into Socialism . That the Senator would be a political puppet for party and special interest groups and not look out for our country as a whole, put your greed aside we have taqken and taken as
Pres. John Kennedy said ask not what they can do for you but what can you do , read , investigate use your knowladge don't let some one dictate to you think for your self

It's pretty straight forward. A president lead us into a war that he had to have known was not necessary and a vice president who helped him mislead the people of the united states.

Would you bother to do anything or have you managed to tune it out? Is it worth becoming a leader or identifying a grassroots leader whom you can help push forward? Just feel that keeping head above water is absolutely all you can manage? Think again.

for reasons that I won't get into here we have decided to buy some land and live in a 26' tipi. we plan to "modernize it buy also buying a large shed to put the modern items in (toilet/tub/shower, washer dryer, microwave, oven/stove, dishwasher, sink and fridge/freezer. then Attach the shed to the tipi via "hallway" which my husband can build. We have thought out every detail, even decided we would still have cable and internet. We'd put a medium size flat screen tv inside the tipi.
we would even be able to run a space heater if it got too cold...but I can only imagine the number of "other reasons" the state could make an issue out of if they got wind of how we were choosing to live.
would they have any legal grounds to come after our children?
Other than outside of our alternative housing they would have every other advantage that any other kid would have.
we are not poor...we make good money, we just choose to live this way.
here's where we are planning to buy from http://www.tipi.com/

As a moderate I tend to be against abortion. Alot of mothers were uneducated, less than 16 years old, and the father ran off and they decided to not be selfish and take care of their responsiblity. Also how can people say scott peterson and other type of murderers who kill woman are double murderers but not consider abortion doctors or woman who get an abortion for murder.

Those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein, and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture, don't have the judgment to be President, or the credibility to be elected President.
