If you know the political history of the country you will realize why. Do not you think that usa has taken more from those countries than anybody else? I am not blaming the american people, i am blaming the american administration.. They have committed many mistakes and the result has been a disaster. I must say that if a country is in need, every country must help, we are all human beings and that is exactly why God put us on earth, to worship him and help each other.

Just so you know, foreign help is available to the US if and when they need it. For example,
"allies offered $854 million in cash and in oil that was to be sold for cash. But only $40 million has been used so far for disaster victims or reconstruction, according to U.S. officials and contractors. Most of the aid went uncollected, including $400 million worth of oil. Some offers were withdrawn or redirected to private groups such as the Red Cross. The rest has been delayed by red tape and bureaucratic limits on how it can be spent."

or

"When other countries rushed to help America after Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. government bungled it - replying to offers of help from overseas with mixed signals, indecision and delay. President George W. Bush said America did not need help"

You can't help but wonder why your government would refuse help for its citizens.

Actually after Katrina I believe it was Germany who sent several hundred (or thousand) cots. And there were some others who actually helped.

But you are right we do so much for so many and seems as though they never even say thank you.

I even remember seeing a guy wearing an UBL tee shirt while getting fresh water from Americans after the tsunami a few years back.

But we are still America and I guess its expected of us.

it;s time the united states just says the hell with the rest of the world.America comes first.it seems every time something bad happens in the world the united states is expected to give up their hard earned money to help them out.then when something bad happens here you are right where is the rest of the world then.all our money is being sent over to Iraq when here we have a disaster like hurricane Katrina.and the government still has;nt done much to repair all that damage.not to mention it took forever to get help to the people down south after Katrina hit. it;s time to just say the hell with the rest of the world.they don;t give a damn about us until something bad happens to them then we are expected to go all out to help them.where are all these countries at right now with this so called terrorist war going on.they pretty much are just letting us fend for ourselves.but when something happends bad to them beg us then to help them out.this governmenr needs to wake up.it;s time to say no.

All countries offered us help, but the administration said NO.

A better question is why do we help others when we don't help ourselves (first)?
