Barack Obama said that he would have wealthy Americans pay more into Social Security. Isn't social security insurance. The wealthiest Americans don't and will not need SS. Why doesn't he just call it a tax? Ah, the DEM-agogues.

I expressed my thought that the "arsonist" should be burned to the stake in my answers to questions posed by other members. As other members expressed, this was a Capital Crime. I just saw on MSNBC, it was a child, a young boy playing with matches. My view on the punishment is changed, what is your opinion now?

We all expect political wrangling, but outrageous insults may be going too far. Republicans say "Liberals Can't Protect the Country," etc. Candidates like Rudy Guiliani repeat it often. I find this particularly offensive, since I had one liberal brother who survived Omaha Beach, another in the Death March, another in the South Pacific. They were fighting...and winning...a Real War, not one cooked up by misinformation. With great leaders like FDR leading us to Super Power glory, how can anyone believe that Liberals are weak and ineffective? There are many Liberal soldiers risking lives in Iraq. What an insult to them!

Consider this President's lack of border security, port security, airline security, etc. Consider the 11 dispatches warning of a eminent attack on U.S. soil, all shrugged off. How can anyone with intelligence believe that Liberals cannot protect a country as well....or better...than any Conservatives? Can anyone really believe that Courage is a political virtue?

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — British supermodel Naomi Campbell met privately with President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday, becoming the latest in a series of celebrities hosted by the Venezuelan leader.

Campbell flashed a smile to reporters as she arrived at the presidential palace, but said little about what she hoped to discuss with Chavez.

"I've been here before actually," she said. "A beautiful country, very tropical. You've got great waterfalls."

Then, before turning to walk inside, she added: "I'm not going to be political. Thank you very much."

Last month, Chavez met in Caracas with American actor Kevin Spacey, who praised the Venezuelan government's efforts to support film-making. The Venezuelan President also has hosted recent visits by Hollywood stars including Sean Penn and Danny Glover.

Edwards and Obama really took it to her. She was doing okay until the very end, when she contradicted herself in the space of about two minutes. I hope Democrats saw this and will think about voting for someone besides her. Seeing her stumble around last night makes me think that she will wilt under the pressure that will be put on her if she becomes the nominee.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - In the City of Brotherly Love, there wasn't much for a sister.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's rivals ganged up on her during a two-hour Democratic presidential debate Tuesday night, putting the front-runner on defense on issues ranging from Iraq and Iran to Social Security and whether she would be electable in the general election.

Gone was the Clinton who laughed off their answers and joked about how she's lucky to be getting so much attention from all these men at her age. Clinton clearly had decided she must defend herself from rivals who are right on her heels in the leadoff voting state of Iowa and who pose a real threat to her winning the Democratic nomination.

Still, she continued her strategy of avoiding direct answers to questions: She wouldn't say how she would address Social Security; she declined to pledge whether she would stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, or say whether she supports giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

And I say this mostly about the Democrat side, because it's just a bunch of pretty colors and cutesy faces.

These people are nothing like the images of candidates from thirty years ago, who had the hard lines of experience, intelligence behind piercing gazes, and substantial life records of having been business leaders or military commanders and such.

Seriously, look up a few past presidents and vice presidents from prior eras and compare them to the "Walmart" management applicants that are today's Democrat lineup for 2008.

The presidency is NOT a high school popularity contest; it's the most important job in the world.

And look who's running.

We're in trouble.

Must be the greed of some people and of the State of New York which looks and says at $75.00 a pop if we get the million illegals to get a license we collect $75,000,000.
Plus some will buy insurance at $300.00 a month creating billions more in revenues collected from them .
The government could care less if you are illegal as long as you pay taxes and attempt to assimilate into the community . That means paying all the licensing fees and insurance fees every other law abiding citizen does .
