Sorry but no.

Yo have to apply to the USCIS to become a legal resident first and then after 5 or 7 years they will send you another set of documents do you can apply for citizenship.

Steps.

1. You get a temporary residency for 2 years
2. After 2 Years you get Permanent residency
3. After 5 or 7 Years then you may apply to become a citizen.

It's a long road, so you better start soon.

NO! There is a process to go through. You don't become a citizen based on how long you have been here.

Besides, was that a LEGAL immigrant or an ILLEGAL alien criminal? If it was the later, you can never become a citizen unless you start the paperwork IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY. We will never have amnesty!

You can't become legal while you are here ILLEGALLY!!!!!!!

You need to go to Immigration and fill out the forms and then take the citizenship test. There are classes that you can take prior to the test. Once you've passed the test you can take the oath and become an American citizen.

Wow. A lot of assuming going on here. You guys do know there are legal, non-citizen immigrants in this country?

To answer your question, no you have to apply for legal citizenship, no one gets it automatically. My mother was here a resident alien for 30 years but she still had to apply.

No. If you are a permanent resident (legally) you can apply for citizenship after 5 years, but you always need to be approved to be here. Time is never enough.

No, you are still an illegal alien until you apply for citizenship, pass the test, and are sworn in as an official US citizen. You can't bypass the laws of the United States.

Obviously you don't REALLY mean "immigrant", you mean ILLEGAL ALIEN. Immigrants are here legally. Illegal aliens are not immigrants. They are NOT in the immigration process AT ALL. They are in our country illegally. Period. No matter how long they have been here.

And the answer is NO.
