I know that they can't adjourn for more than 3 days without Senate's permission, but can they actually legally strike until they get what they want?

A guy owes 20,000 in child support. He knows he is in deep trouble. He has attempted suicide before when he lost custody of his kid's due to being stupid and also taking 100 pills. He is more likely to hurt himself over the mom or the kid's right?

California's infamous Three Strikes Laws, which hand out a life sentence based upon the alleged unredeemable character of a convict, rather than a sentence befitting the crime, has succeeded in producing a 50% rate of all those convicted under this law being black.

Even though 12% of the population is black.

That's right, half (50%) of all those receiving a life sentence under California's Three Strikes Laws are black, but only 1-in-8 citizens are black?

Is this Californias way of dealing with poverty-stricken troubled youth?

Sure looks like it.

Time to end this Three Strikes Law madness and put judgement back into the hands of judges and juries, instead of power-hungry legislators.

I'll be interviewing very soon for a job as a Border Patrol Agent. Originally, I had intended to wear a suit and tie to my interview, as I do for any job interview. A friend of mine, however, says he interviewed recently, and recommends a dress shirt and slacks; no coat, no tie. He claims that a full suit is inappropriate, and that he was told as much by the chief agent of the Border Patrol's Puerto Rico Sector!

The letter giving me the when and where of my interview recommends business attire.

Yet another suggestion I received was that I wear a shirt and tie, but no jacket, since one isn't expected to wear one here in Arizona, where daytime temperatures are often in the 100's.

Any BPAs out there who can give me the facts?

It says on my bank statement : $1.00 gas authorization.
There is nothing that states on the gas pump that I will be charged a dollar for getting the gas.
I did not EVER get anything from my bank saying that if I got gas I would be charged a dollar just for the authorization.
Is that legal?
If it is; then why did they have to put up a sign saying how much an ATM will charge you?

Constitutionally, church and state are supposed to be separate in the US. But religion and politics are big issues there unlike in most of Europe, where secularism is on the rise both societally and politically. Do you think that religion will ever be as unimportant in US politics as in Europe?

I am an united states citizen living in the usa married to a mexican citizen and i want to move to mexico. What do i do??? I have about 100k saved up and from what im told i can live on that for the rest of my life. I was with the program runned by my local county and they didn't really bother to do much for me. I was homeless and living on the streets and they sent somebody in to help me. We'll they did absolutely nothing for me. I have no papers and nothing else except proof that I am homeless. I really don't have proof that they caused this other then them leaving me to die. Its really hard to find attorneys that will represent me. Is there any suggestions out there from people that I could do about it? I live in Penna.

The debate last night was pretty good mainly because the questions posed to the Dems put them on the spot and made them squirm. The questions about Hillary opening up the archives and her contradicting herself when on campaign stops talking about Social Security were brutal.
