I am an united states citizen living in the usa married to a mexican citizen and i want to move to mexico. What do i do??? I have about 100k saved up and from what im told i can live on that for the rest of my life. But i dont have a steady stream of income, and from what i hear i will need to show a steady stream of income to live in mexico. approx. 1,000.00 per month. The big question...Does that change when i marry a mexican citzen???

As long as you have enough money to support yourself it should be easy.... and it is easier if you are married to a mexican citizen. You need to make sure you get the appropriate visa though so you dont have to renewit so often and dont have to travel far to do it. your best bet would be talking to an immigration lawyer or consultant. Good Luck!

And no you dont have to give up your american citizenship if you go and live there.

Depends on a Mexicans laws.If u move there and get married u should get Citizenship marring Mexican Citizen but my advice 2 u is take both Citizenship American and Mexican. In that way u r eligible 2 do everything by the laws and not 2 be in any trouble or breaking laws.U can only transfer money 2 Mexico not carrying with u all u can take with u is 10.000$ dollars by the law in USA.

If memory serves me correctly, you have to give up your American citizenship...enjoy the trip. With that kind of money you can pretty much live like a a king.

Just go there like they come here. If they say anything tell them you have rights.
