He printed bootleg movie covers is what he do. Also who should be asked about the parole commission, to see if he can be granted parole?

I think that he is in prison, instead of jail.

It depends on a few things:

1. His sentence, if he is eligible for parole?
2. His crime, mandatory vs non-mandatory sentence.
3. He should get a decent lawyer.

It doesn't work that way. He was sentenced to prison and has to serve that sentence. Some sentences allow for the possibility of parole after a certain period of time, but that still doesn't mean that parole will necessarily be granted; it would be up to the parole commission

you cannot get sentenced to jail for 3 years?

jail is 1 year or less

prison is one year and a day.

if sentence was to jail then he may do the year and the rest on probation from the courts or from the judge?

fines may also be applicable.

it is a federal copyright infringement to do what he did and then try to resale the copies.
