He is still in training and I'm not sure I will be able to live with him. We will have a newborn. So far I'm going to live with my parents in law back home but really want to make it happen where we could live together as a family. I have many concerns and honestly the more I think about things the more nervous I get. I have asked MANY questions about this topic so I apologize to all the people who frequent this forum and have heard many questions before. I also have read material on many different web sites focused on military issues and hear a lot about the military from my dad (a former Marine), one grandpa(a former draftee and Vietnam Veteran), and other grandpa(a former anti military draft dodger, "hippie", peace activist, etc lol lol). They fill me with stories that to be honest make me more nervous. A lot of their information is not relevant to the military today yet it churns around in my head.

Basically ive been waiting like 4 weeks for a waiver for simple possession of marijuana that happened 8 years ago to join the army. Well ive been planning to goto a college football game for like 2 weeks and have saved all my money just to be able to do so, and i really only have enough to get me there and back + food, well magically now the waiver has come through and i have to drive like 30 minutes to get to my recruiter the day i get back...well i doubt ill have the gas to get there and back and when asked if I could just be picked up he said "your not 16 anymore, when we tell you when and where, you have to be there" i mean what the heck do they do for guys that dont even have cars? I told him i'd try to save some gas which i dont think i can. I havent got a job yet because everyday my recruiter would call and say "I think its just gonna be one more day" and so on....this pisses me off, my recruiting station has the lowest numbers in the state also.

Okay by law?? does anyone know can department of family and children check into your personal records. If they ask for copies of your bills and such can they go into those records?? I was told by Law that they CAN NOT check your ss #, and I know this is pretty much true. But what about other records? Should you give them information that has nothing to do with anything else?? Like your bills and stuff.

how come so many U.S citizens retire in Latin America according to statistics because of climate, and cost of living, but whenever Latin Americans try to go to your country legally it's impossible, "ok sir we will look into it" 10 years later "yeah you have been DENIED" I know there's so many illegals specially Mexicans but why do you hold grudge against all the rest of the Hispanics, I'm from Chile, we are different from the rest of latin america

I know I always use to think "How could the people of Germany have been so blind as to let that evil Dictator take over" and then I see it is happening here and I can understand how it could happen.

Do you think that private social security accounts (i.e. you own it) would give you more at retirement than the current system?

I did some number crunching and came up with these numbers.

Fund 401(k) for 45 years
Annual Income of $ 20,000.00- increasing 2% per year
Beginning Balance= $ .0
Contribute 7.65% of Salary -Invested Twice Monthly
Your Employer will match 100% up to 7.65% of salary - Annually
(hint: the above is the same as current system deducts from everyone's earnings which means that you'd feel nothing in your pocket book to make this happen.)
Annual Interest Rate = 7% - Compounded Annually
ending balance at age 65 = 1,154,983.81
yearly interest earned at 3.3% = 38,748.55
that's 3,229 per month.

Currently, the SS system gives us around 1,079 per month or a total of 12,948 per year.

Which way would be better for everyone?

this is a question for a police officer/fbi agent/ any one who uses hand cuffs in their professions. how would you hand cuff aperson with one hand or one arm... I realize that this is one of those questions thats not supposed to have an answer but it got me thinking about it and there has to be a way to do it

Sandy Berger is a convicted criminal,the fact that he was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge is a disgrace,and irrelevant. The guy has shown himself to be a thoroughly corrupt individual,who found it more important to protect the Clinton administration from answering for their mistakes,than to help protect America.

hi i'am abdul from sudan. why is it british people don't realise how diffcult it is for immigrants , do they know what our life was like back home and how much we suffered just o get here. well let me tell you what i had to go through, first, me and my 8 children had to put up being cramped in a container full off dates from sudan for weeks before we arived in the u.k. we had to put up with temperatures of over 50 degress and -10 insise the container on our long journey to the u.k. all we lived off was dates, we even slept on crates of dates and the only time we could stretch our legs was when the driver had to stop at a cafe for sometihng to eat., we had to use an empty tin of dates as a toilet,. we didn't wash or clean all the way through.One of my friends had it even worse, he was in a container from india full of mango pickle, maybe one of you may hve sat next to him on bus as he still smells of it. NOW TELL ME DO WE REALY HAVE IT THIS EASY AFTER WHAT WE HVE BEEN THROUGH?

Bush yesterday said Iran having 'Nucular' technology will cause WWIII. Last election cycle he said if Democrats get elected we would be attacked again. If we don't have domestic spying the terrorist will kill us all.
Every time he wants something he threatens us with death and destruction if we don't do things his way. I'm tired of him trying to terrorize America.

This is got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Our enemies would just laugh at us if this happened. We need to end up victorious in iraq and repealing the don't ask don't tell law is not the way to do it, in fact we need to ban homosexuals outright.

im british, my husband is african. we married in africa and applied for his visa from there. we live in UK. they refused his visa, even tho were married and have children. he appealed again. they keep telling him different days to come back, this has been going on for 6 weeks.i want him home. why is it taking so long, why do they keep messing us about and is are they allowed to refuse him his visa, that will be splitting up a family!

Listening to my radio last night, and a debate on about a possibilty of one day (maybe not in my life time.) a 1 World Government. What would you or your children have, a 1 world Govenrment or Independant Goverments like we have now.
I know what i would prefer Independant governments, who knows if we could have another hilter, Sadam ect, and to be ruled by these Madmen. What do you think ?

For Clinton:
1) Hsu donations not getting refunded back. Sources showing clinton campaign putting wrong zip codes in attempt to gain failed/ unknown / non-deliverable.
2) Sandy Berger
3) After calling Obama naive for meeting with leaders, she changed her mind and now wants to meet with Iran
4) no answer for socail security, but look she came up with baby bonds
5) Leading in Iowa,New Hampshire and South Carolina among voters with land-mind phones ... but no analysis on cellphone users
For Obama:
1) “Sometimes we wear the same suit even if it’s got holes in it. We need a new suit, not just a new tie or new pants.” -Michelle Obama
2) Has raised close to Hillary in campaign cash but leads in total supporters
3) Decided not to wear his American Flag pin ( which was made in China anyway) but declared patriotism is in the heart of Americans.

cinder blocks in a cooler with fake blood on the outside (a wig partially sticking out along with a bag kinda sticking out and cloth). We saw them heading our way and we started taking this outside while one roommate opened the trunk. We acted startled (one ran into our backyard the other ran in the house while I and another roommate ran with the cooler back in the house). Within the hour the cops knocked on the door (they were not ammused). They said that we should be thankful that they were not going to arrest/fine us "this time". Other than having an immatture sense of humor, what laws did we break?

The reason I'm asking this question is that the American military are putting bases in the former soviet union but they are telling the russian there is no need to be concern. Same situation if China put bases in Mexico.
