You didn't break law. You did not threaten anyone and the only reason they wouldn't arrest you "this time" was because they knew they couldn't arrest you anytime.
Good one!

Good one!
But I hpe they don't come back with a vigil to pray for the souls!
The visitors will be the first to claim it is their First amendment right to knowck on your door and talk religion. Maybe they don't realize you have a First Amendment right to choose how to express a way to get them to stay away. Typical!
I say do this as often as you want, and tell any cops that show up that you are doing an art performance, or practicing for halloween or rehearsing a movie you are making for youtube whatever.

OK lesson one:
malicious mischief.--like putting a bag of dog doo on a porch, lighting the bag, ringing the door bell, watching the person stomp it out. funny to you mischievous to the other side.
what if one them had had a heart attack and fell out at the scene?? hahahahaha
Lets see now we are having the police called out on a false alarm. the tax payers having to pay for it all. lets see no harm done (scared the hell out of others who thought for the worse), 2 officers called out ($25 per hour each officer) dispatcher notified of situation, possible body in cooler? how do you as a police officer respond to this situation? dangerous situation you could have put your self(s) into.
i can see the humor, thank god so did the officers have a sense of humor at this time.
remember discretion is the better part of valor.

I bet the cops were amused, cause I am. But we can't go around laughing at practical jokes when we are to enforce the law. You did break the law, with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, criminal mischief. But hey, it's not a big deal.

I'm neither a lawyer or a policeman, but I can't think of anything that you did that would break a law.
Hell, if there WAS a law like that, half the Halloween decorations that I've seen would be illegal.

That's pretty darn funny, I have to remember that. They might be able to come up with some kind of nonsense charge like disturbing the peace or something, but I doubt anybody would bother.

It's true that you did not violate any law. Just be prepared to pay the cost of your prank if you ever really need a cop and they are busy answering a call such as you caused.

I hate it when they do that! I ask nicely for them not to come back, that I attend church already. If they come back I answer the door naked! works like a charm!
