income tax is unconstitutional... always has been.
The only two forms of tax the constitution allows is ..tax on corporate earnings...and what are called "incise" taxes (taxes you can avoid paying by the choices you make).. An example of incise tax would be sales tax..you don't have to buy stuff... or property tax...you don't have to own property.
Aside from that legal stuff.. Income tax in and of itself is counterproductive in a capitalist economy. If the govermnet taxes money before it is spent by the consumer, most of the economic potential of each dollar earned is lost immediatly. If we moved to a federal sales tax system, you would see immediate improvements in the economy and a better balance of wealth overall.
Think....
In a federal sales tax system...
If I spend 5 dollars, the fed gets paid, so does the waitress I just tipped. So I just created a job, and contributed my fair share... Now the waitress takes that five dollars and she spends it on whatever... The fed just got paid again, she just created another job, and the cycle continues until eventually the entire 5 dollars was taxed back into the fed anyway... but during each purchase it supported the continuation of someones employment, and nobody involved with this particular 5 dollars could avoid paying their fair share of tax.
...no matter how rich or poor they were, or whether or not they even have a SS number...they still paid their fair share of tax.
If the government took that 5 dollars before I spend it....It gets taxed one time, then they likely will waste it on some federal pork project that benefits MY local economy roughly zero.

As a middle class citizen, I still pay too much. The lower class is not paying any, receiving more benefits, and that needs to change. No person should receive more money back than they put in, that's bad business.
The taxes should not be "progressive", everyone should pay the same amount. The only loop holes should be health oriented.

I pay more than enough. I make 1800 every 2 weeks and the feds take out 500 bucks each paycheck. That's 25 percent so that means I only receive 75 percent of what I earned.

We have a not so little thing called the national debt. International Corporate Fascists have maneuvered us into a position where it appears we technically cannot afford to assist the children, elderly and legitimately needy of our country.
We are facing an Argentine style economic disaster.
We will pay one way or another. And our children will pay. And our grandchildren will pay.
International Corporate Fascists call it "the free market". You and your descendants will call it economic slavery.

We'll always pay more and more and more. There's no end. If the truth were known, we are actually paying the government to let us work a full work week now. We don't work and give the government money. We work and the government gives us back some of it to live on. in any case, it's the gov't's plan to give us less and less and less to keep and make us pay more and more and more for the privilege of working for it.

We can't pay any less. If we did then the Politicians in this country would have to take pay cuts from their exorbitant salaries and from stealing all the other money they do from the American public.

I pay plenty. As to increases, it depends on what it is for. I don't want to pay for baby bonds or universal healthcare, but I'll gladly pay more for law enforcement and education.
