I have been told the senator has stated: Christianity and those that practice such a belief are fool's, like the Jew's who practice worshipping to a false God that does not exist! Is this true?

My brother is 21, last year he worked at Target and was fired for stealing. The employer filed charges and the police came to target. My brother wasn't arrested, however, the police took down his info and gave him until a certain day to come to the station for finger printing. He went and got finger printed and paid court fees. This took place in the state of PA where he goes to school and we were doing some
research regarding their laws. It states on his record that he was convicted of a "summary offence". The info we were reading states that a summary offence is only being convicted of a crime IF the sentence includes incarceration. He never went to jail. He applied for a job and on the application it asks "have you ever been convicted of a crime?" and he stated no. The job ran his background and that summary offence came up, now they're trying to hold him accountable for lieing on his app, when in reality it isn't a lie because it's not a crime. can they still fire him?

This country and the world in general have been victimized by the tyranical power-hungry lunacy of George Bush and his destructive reign of fear and war-mongering.

Clearly Democracy has been proven vulnerable to people like this.

You already have states that are offering benefits for a family of four making up to $70,000. But that's not enough apparently, NY wants to offer benefits to those with a family income of $82,000. I have no problem with the idea of helping actual poor families,but at some point it just becomes universal coverage by default.

At least for the moment we have a President who stood up to this thankfully,but will the next one?

it is no secret that G.W.Bush (hate to even say the name) has screwed the pooch, but will complaining about it help matters?
Not sure about the rest of you, but i am more concerned about who will be the person to fill the shoes to clean up the mess. so we need to vote really really smart.

Some criticism of Israel is so crude and vicious it is clear that it is merely anti-semitic hatred of the Jewish people and not legitimate criticism of the policies of Israel.

However anti-semitism has begun to permeate academia and some of the criticism is so cloaked in genteel academic language that it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish anti-semitic hatred of the Jewish people from legitimate criticism.

Alan Dershowitz, professor of law at Harvard University has listed a set of factors that I think is very useful to distinguish anti-semitic material from legitimate criticism of Israel.

I would like to know what you think of the factors listed by Alan Dershowitz.

The factors are listed on line in an article by Alan Dershowitz in The Huffington Post on July 1, 2005.

The title is "When Legitimate Criticism Crosses The Anti-Semitic Line."

Just Google Alan Dershowitz and anti semitism.

The list of factors is too long to list here.

Every day people ask questions here about legalizing marijuana but no one does anything about it. Is that because you are busy getting high and watching cartoons? (sorry, couldn't resist).

I have to say that, to me, this is more a matter of priorities than anything else. If we could legalize marijuana and convice those who grow opium poppies to produce marijuana instead of opium, we would be much better off. Can we convince our politicians of this?

Just to be sure that people understand what I am saying, I also think that it is a matter of what the government should tell us to do. It is a freedom issue for me.

(I am sure the bush administration will be tapping my phone calls from now on LOL).

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury."

"From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years"

"During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage"

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000
Presidential election:

Number of States won by:
Gore: 19
Bush: 29

Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

I am a single mother of a 13 month old baby girl. I am having a hard time taking care of her and decided it would be best to join the Air Force(or maybe the Navy) so I could have some security and be able to take care of both of us...BUT I talked to a recruiter and he told me that I cannot join any branch of the military while being a single parent. I either have to get married or sign over my parental rights. Now I COULD marry my best friend, who is in his junior year of college in the engineering program and has a lot going for himself(so he wouldn't try to blackmail me) OR I could sign over my parental rights to my mother. The only thing about that is once I sign over my rights I have to sign a paper stating that I will not take her back until I do a 4yr term, get married, or under circumstances that I can't prevent(like my mother dying or becoming disabled).I know I'll want my daughter with me as soon as I get out of basic training...What should I do???

I actually couldn't find this info on Google for once. Can you please explain to me what it means to have a "good faith basis" for a lawsuit and how one meets the burden of proving they have a "good faith basis" for a lawsuit? I'm trying to learn more about a candidate's idea for tort reform.

My father in law passed away in June. He was not married and my husband is an only child. He did not have a will. We are being told that we need a document stating that my husband is the Administer of the Estate in order to open an account in the name of "the Estate of.......", and to transfer the title/registration on his truck into my husband's name. Another possible issue is that he lived/died in California and we live in Kentucky. We called the probate court in CA and were told we needed a lawyer. Is there any way to get this document without an attorney and/or going to CA to court? Thanks in advance.
