You provide very little information as to who and why all the postponements.
Most often the defense is responsible for postponing a case and not the prosecution.
Normally, when the prosecution postpones a case it's because forensics evidence analysis as not been completed.
Maybe your mom should seek the advise of a better attorney!

The longer it takes to go to trial the better it is for your mother. The reason the trial may keep getting postponed is because the prosecution does not have enough evidence to go to trial. Also there are time limitations that the trial needs to be held. If the prosecution takes too long to go to trail your mom's lawyer can move for the charges to be dropped due to "Failure for the People to prosecute in a timely manner".

She should aask her attorney why, not have you ask us.
The answers above me are generally good.
If she hasn't waived her right to a speedy trial, whe should find out if the prosecution has breached its responsibility to try her by a certain date.
If not, the delay may be that the prosecution sees her as a potential witness in another more serious case and is willing to make a deal with her if she testifies there, but she is resisting.
Or, if someone was seriously injured in the fire, they may wait to see if that person dies as a result of their injuries, because then charges of some level of homicide can be added to the charges.
There are a million reasons it could be, that is why she should ask her attorney, who represents her.
But she may not be willing to share the details with you, so prepare yourself for that.

If it were the courthouse she burned down, then it may be a while before the trial comes about...
She may need to contact a lawyer, you have the right to a speedy trial. But, on the other hand if she is guilty then I would not mind my trial being postponed.....
