My husband is deployed and we're planning a cruise to Jamaica when he gets home. I have his P.O.A. but it doesn't say anything about applying for a passport on his behalf. I just want to apply for it and when he gets home, he can sign for it himself. The delima lies in the fact that his leave starts almost as soon as he gets home so we need to be on the ship right away and we won't have time to apply and wait for the passport when he gets here. We need it BEFORE he gets home. I was just wondering if there's anyway I can get him a passport, or is it still true that he can still travel with only his active duty military id. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

Hillary's sudden penchant for hyena-like laughter and Rudy's NRA cell phone call seem like clearly scripted attempts to make each candidate seem more personable. I think they also seem completely phony. An interesting article about it:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071002/od_nm/usa_politics_laugh_dc

Rudy's explanation for the phone call:

"Quite honestly, since September 11, most of the time when we get on a plane, we talk to each other and just reaffirm the fact that we love each other," he told the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Not only was the phone call obviously staged, but he manages to mention - everybody say it with me - 9/11!

Are these 2 just the phoniest phonies ever?

Michael Chertoff has defended building a gate on the Mexico border by saying:

"Illegal migrants really degrade the environment. I’ve seen pictures of human waste, garbage, discarded bottles and other human artifact in pristine areas," Chertoff said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "And believe me, that is the worst thing you can do to the environment."

There seems to be a lot more hatred, attacks, and childishness on this site coming from the Rep/Con side than Dem/Lib. This makes me wonder if there is something to worry about because it would make me assume that this is due to a lot more young(the next generation) people taking that side. Or, could this just be that Dem/Libs are more mature and less obnoxious? I enjoy a little mudslinging every now and then myself but that is not my only way of debating a topic.

drugs, down with authority are now the same people who are trying to ban smoking all together, tell people what they can and can't eat. Seems like it was ok for them to break all the rules, but now we have to be told what to do....

My Great Uncle died in World War II. My family is quite closed lip about it, due to some bitterness about the war and the loss of my Uncle. I am a huge history fan and would love to find out more information about my Uncle, what he did in the war, where he died, and if he is buried anywhere. Does anyone know of any websites or informational pages where I can find out more information about my Uncle.

From what I have found out he worked with the
533rd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment
**I am really curious to find out what he did in the war

His name is Lester Lavern Zornes or Lavern Lester Zornes.
I am really not sure which as my family will not talk about him.

Any information websites or anything would be a lot of help!!

THANK YOU!!!!

Ok, now the US Senate is making speeches on the floor about Rush Limbaugh? Come on! The man is a friggen entertainer mouth piece and this is what Senate Democrats are worried about? With all the problems in the world that they promiced to solve when they took over? This is what they are worried about?

It would be like Bush doing a State of the Union speech and talking about how how Michael Moore or Rosie O'Dingbat is runing his life and must be silenced.

This makes me want to puke!!!!!!

So, Democrats... What is your opinion on this?
