I'm not a Democrat, but didn't the Republicans just waste a bunch of time making a big stink about the Move On ad?
Either way, there's your answer for the record low approval rating. Way to go Congress. Might as well keep your things packed, you all won't be staying long.

As an independent who intends to vote Democrat this time, I find it laughable that anybody takes anything that drug addled corporate shill has to say seriously. Consider how for sixteen years he has been maligning Senator Clinton in ways that should have gotten him horsewhipped.
Yes, he is a lickspittle who spews his ideologically driven venom without concern for truth or fairness. Yes, his life contradicts the values he purports to represent. Yes, he is a prime example of the kind of partisan moron who has delivered this country into the hands of religious fundamentalists. Does this justify the attention he is getting because he may have slandered our armed forces?
He is the human equivalent of Foghorn Leghorn.
Let the Television Police deal with it. He offends me far more than mammary glands at the Super Bowl. Fine him, take him off the air, make him write lines, send him home and make his Mommy wash his mouth out.
Frankly, the level of political debate in this country has been dragged to the bottom of the gutter by the McCarthyite right, and Rush Limbaugh has been the anchor man. If the Democrats want to complain now because he has stepped over the line, it is only fair. I was watching once when he called Mrs. Clinton a slut and an enabler for forgiving her husband. Nothing the man could say after that had any relevance, and anybody can call him anything they want any time they choose. If he can't take it he should never dish it out.

Can't get any real business done, so might as well attack entertainers. Brittney Spears is next.
Dimms are shooting themselves in the foot. Rush is more than capable of defending himself, and will get a ratings boost from all of this.
Anyone comparing this to the Moveon.org ad is making a mistake. The General can not go on the air and defend himself in a political way. The General is not an entertainer, he is a high ranking military official and has a code of conduct to live by. There are no public political opinions when you are in uniform. That Moveon.org ad has legs. You don't attack the military in a political way and survive a political debate.

You're right, with all of the problems in the world and yes thank you for admitting that, this is what they are worried about.
About as worried as Bush was to take time out from his important Presidential duties to come on national television and attack moveon.org. I am not saying I agree with what they said, I am just trying to compare the two sides here.

I think its pretty stupid. But where were you when the republicans had their panties all in a bunch because Moveon.org ran an ad about Gen. Petraeus? I also think its dangerous that congress thinks it should control cirticism of the military. American soldiers are extremely courageous - but that doesn't mean they can't be wrong. Especially the generals. Radio talk show hosts made a big deal when anyone criticized Rumsfeldt or the Bush war policy. But now that Rumsfeldt is gone, they are all saying how he's the one who screwed things up.

I view it as a response to the President and just about every other Repub pol getting hysterical over MoveOn's newspaper ad instead of paying attention to the actual issue of Iraq. They actually brought it to a vote. So why not condemn Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comments?
But as far as the global point that congress wastes huge amounts of time on partisan nonsense, that goes for both sides.

both parties like beat around the bush(no pun intended) at times, but i agree......if we listened to and acted on all the talk radio hosts out there, this country would be in constant turmoil.(its getting close to that now) politicians in both parties need to get down to business and run the country, and forget about opinionated dufuses.

Keep it up, dumbs. It's one thing to take to the Senate floor to rail against a decorated General. The American public can understand that. It's entirely different to take the floor to gripe about a radio personality.
But, why stop them from shooting themselves in the foot.

It's stupid.
Same as the resolution that Republicans passed to condemn MoveOn.org for the Petreaus Ad. I never even saw the Ad until they made an issue out of it....
You would think they have more to worry about... you know like war, hunger, disease, illiteracy ?!..right ?

It is totally out of control. Just like with Moveon.
Right?
First the Moveon weeping, and now this.
Is there nothing more important to worry about?
If only there was a war to distract us from this nonsense.
