I was asleep on the other side of the world, in Asia where we were living. I was always the first one up in the morning to be able to get the Saturday comics before my brothers! I never read the comics that day. I remember standing stunned on the driveway trying to take in the headline! The awful words made no sense.

The phone rang and it was my 80 year old French grandmother who didn't speak English and wasn't exactly a huge fan of things American.
