such as

the closing of several VA hospitals, pushing waiting lists for med services for +200,000 wounded veterans back up to six months

bush's decision to slash 900 million in veterans health care benefits

his decision to cut veteran housing program funding by +50 million

increase costs of prescription drugs for wounded veterans, preventing many veterans from a poorer background from receiving the necessary treatment.

don't forget: you're the ones who say you support the troops, and say we hate the troops. if we hate them so much, why are we trying to bring them home? and why are we the ones trying to secure their health benefits?

or let me guess, you give these wounded veterans the same line you give the poor, the elderly, and the others in no position to help themselves: "GO GET A JOB!"

or maybe by decreasing veteran health care funding, you guys figure you can save more money for the war, and give the rich bigger tax breaks, right?

Does anyone else get really irritated by smokers who constantly whinge on about their rights?

First they were complaining that they aren't allowed to smoke in public places and now they are moaning about how they can't smoke and drive....Can they seriously not go a couple of hours without a cigarette... how do these people get through a day at work?

Don't you wish they would realise that there are other people in the world and that their choices are having an impact on our health...

Do we not have a choice about whether we breathe in second hand smoke and whether we get in a car crash because someone was smoking and dropped ash on their leg...

I personally am pleased that the government are finally doing something about the smokers and giving people like me the chance to be healthy...

My hubby is 28, was in an accident the night before he was shipped over to Afghanistan, he died and was brought back, after coma, brain surgery, etc. All that happened 8 yrs ago or so, since then his family(after DOD recommended a payee) has stolen untold amounts of $, left him with no transportation to medical care in rural areas, done none of the things to protect his benefits(he was TDRL and due to him missing a PT apt. he was administratively seperated from USMC), and then he through his grandma as payee bought a house that was overpriced and is structurally unsafe(foundation is not safe, or existant, really), has asbestos, mold, etc. Anyone advice me on how to help my marine? Leads, anything would be a godsend...

I think the left has been horrible towards Bush. At least he doesnt cheat on his wife, that is very important to values voters and Bush pioneers.

interviews with eyewitnesses and survivors of each incident describe similar circumstances in which Blackwater guards took aggressive action against civilians who seemed to pose no threat.

"They killed her in cold blood," Hussein Jumaa Hassan , 30, a parking lot attendant, said of Hussein, a clerk in the Iraqi customs office in Diyala province, she was in the capital to drop off and pick up paperwork at the central office near busy al Khilani Square, not far from the fortified Green Zone.

Hassan pointed to the bullet-pocked concrete column behind him. He'd hidden behind it.

"I was boiling with anger, and I wished that I had a weapon in my hands in those minutes," he said. "They wanted to kill us all."

Anyone who moved was shot until the convoy left the square, witnesses said. Also among the dead was Kadhim Gayes , a city hall guard.

So here's the story. I was driving down I-70 in colorado, and yes I was speeding (so I don't mind pleading guilty to that). But the cop that followed me did two things that bother me. First of all, he was following me dangerously too close. I was afraid that if I were to slow down, he'd ram the back of my car. Also, he followed my car, for a mile into a construction zone, then pulled me over, stating the citation in the construction zone, so now I have double fines.
I'm not upset about the speeding ticket. But I am upset about how he incorrectly notated the ticket that the citation occurred in a construction zone. I also am not too happy with the officer's behavior. I don't think it is good to give tickets to people for unsafe driving, when he himself is not driving safely.
Any suggestions? My court date is in a month.

I honestly cannot wrap my mind around the idea that Cuba is better than the United States, in some peoples' opinions.

If Bush suceeds, the right of appeal for Death Row inmates will be swept away. As many of them are found innocent, and a disproportionate number of them are coloured, isn't it just an attempt to blame coloured people for crime, and sacrifice them in order to make whites feel better? Is it not true that more crime is commited by whites, but they can afford better lawyers? Is it not a fact that the police force is institutionally racist?

What could be done in Iraq in order for the troops to come home?

Realistic answers only please. Not Rhetoric answers. In fact, how about answers that don't have the words "liberals" "conservatives", "Democrats", "Republicans" and "Neo-Cons" in them.

In Ontario, there is going to be an election on October 10th for premier. One of the candidates, Progressive Conservative John Tory says that once elected he will allow funding to all religious schools because he thinks it isn't fair that only Catholic schools get funding. I think that no religious school should get funding because it causes segregation among students and also we (residents) shouldn't have to pay for other people's choice to go to a religious school. Now I want to hear your opinion. Do you think that the funding of religious schools is a good idea?

Note - Please refrain from voting yourself as the best answer because this a debate, not a question/answer thing. Thanks.

Isn't it strange and idiotic that New York State has approved drivers licenses for illegal aliens when it was illegal aliens who destroyed the World Trade Center and committed the other horrific acts of 9/11? What sort of mental malfunction does the governor of New York have that caused him to do this? Is the governor of New York a terrorist? Wull the illegals get the right to vote next?
