Yes. The American dream is the dream that every American no matter where they started from can achieve huge levels of success, personal wealth and happiness.
The American reality is that not everyone can or will achieve this dream. Only a few can be at the top of society - thats how it works. What the American dream does is ensure those at the top are given an easy time because people who are less successful still hang onto the dream and think it could be them one day.
If America woke up they'd realise that they need to stop dreaming and make society fairer for everyone. Not just the 'winners'. Otherwise it'll soon turn into a nightmare. America's healthcare system being a case in point.

O you bet it does!!! It is what America was built on!!! It is happening all the time. My dad is an example of the American Dream
