Liberals who say they don't like Fidel Castro love Hugo Chavez who adores Fidel. It's crazy. There are many reasons why they love communism, a few of which are: immaturity, ignorance, misguided idealism, stupidity, mental illness. To think these people love Michael Moore who did a movie comparing our medical care in America with Cuba's is truly disgusting.

Basically, I think that most of it comes from their hatred of anything to do with President Bush, even if it's the entire Country. They will NEVER forgive him for beating Fat Albert in 2000 or Herman-Munster-Head in 2004. More people voted for the President than either of those hand-picked liberal imbeciles and the libs will never forgive the Country for that. Hence, they just give elder-statesman status to people like Castro, who are responsible for MILLIONS of deaths. Apparently the libs have forgotten all of the Cuban fighting units that were showing up all over the African Continent, the Middle East and South America, exporting communist terrorism.

Most liberals don't have an "affinity" for Castro, or Guevara. But keep the stereotype and misconception brewing, it's a benefit to us all.

I doubt anyone who wears Guevera shirts knows who he really is
anyhow, I'm a liberal and I have no affinity for Castro
can conservatives explain why Bush, in his push for democracy in the Middle East, has done nothing to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Bahrain?

To answer your question, you are talking about Left-Liberals, not all Liberals (tho some would say one leads to another).
They admire socialist countries because of, not despite, the tyrannical abuse of power. It follows logically from their wish to be personally running a government that controls people in order to do 'what's good for them' in a Plato kind of way.
Also, those people are the sort that love any country that hates their own. A bit mad, I agree, but they will always be with us.
I hope this helps answer your question.

Nice try, but there are almost no communists or Castro admirers in the US. The people that think Cuba is a better place to live than the US, all live in Cuba.

Che Guevera is nothing more than a t-shirt icon.

I don't understand this either. They feel since he claims to mean well that is all that matters. In reality the brutal dictator has personally stollen almost a billion dollars that is known to be in his bank accounts. Power to the people, equality and all of those lies the Democrats believe. What matters to them is that everyone below them follows the rules they say though those rules don't apply to them. Just look at Al Gore who uses more electricity and gas in one month than most people do in a year and he preaches about global warming. If you're not sure about this, just ask him I'm sure he'll be happy to accept a fee for speaking, fly there on his private jet and take an SUV to and from the airport to tell you to ride a bike.

Liberals believe in representative government. Therefore I, as a Liberal, have no affinity nor do I support Castro in any form. Since you fail to give any examples, I'll have to assume that the people to whom you refer are Socialists, Communists, or maybe Fascists. They were not Liberals.

No liberal I know, including myself, thinks Cuba is better than the U.S. We just want to know why you cons have such a double standard with that tiny country. China gets most favored trade partner and gets all kinds of business and praises from the Republicans and Democrats alike, yet has some of the worst human rights abuses on the planet. Saudi Arabia has some pretty appauling human rights abuses as well in comparison to Cuba and yet you don't have a problem with buying their oil do you? And, both those country's human rights abuses are way Worse than Cuba's human rights abuses. Yet the U.S refuses to do business with Cuba or even allow families or tourists to visit Cuba if they want too.
BTW, any publication that quotes someone as idiotic like John Stossel can't be too credible.
EDIT: Che Guevara t-shirt? I'm liberal honey, but I don't own a Che Guevara t-shirt and none of my liberal friends do either. Why don't you stop stereotyping and start thinking for a change.
Perhaps you should provide links to your claims of liberals being pro-Castro. While you're at it, show that Republican right wingers actually give one crap about human rights in the first place.

After Fidel 'apologized' for decades of imprisoning homosexuals, the left fawned all over him for becoming educated.
How nice
