Do you think affirmative action is unfair, especially when colleges and universities use it? Shouldn't everyone have an equal chance to get into college?
For example, asians and whites should have a higher test score in order to be considered on the same level with other ethnicities who have lower test scores.
I'm not being racist or anything like that, just wondering what people think about affirmative action.

I think the president of Iran is in denial about the existence of "alternative lifestyles" in Iran. As we are all by now well aware, thanks to philosophers and scholars, the guy is a little made-up, harmless boogey-man, unfairly demonized by the Bush administration. Shouldn't we organize a few thousand from the GBLT community to go over there and DEMAND equal rights for those social outcasts in Iran? Could we take the next pride parade from San Francisco and have it in sunny and peaceful Tehran?

Could we have misjudged him? Could it be that the reason he spends like there's no tomorrow be that his Faith tells him there won't be one? Is it possible that Bush and the Republican Party count on the Rapture to bail them out in '08?

JACKSONVILLE, FL –- An illegal alien who hit and killed a Jacksonville karate instructor while driving under the influence of alcohol was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday.28-year-old Marliano Alberto accepted the sentence as part of a plea bargain. The judge also revoked his license for the rest of his life.Police say Alberto was drinking and speeding when he crashed into 27-year-old Russell Nevado’s car on A.C. Skinner Drive last April.Nevado's family, friends and students filled the courtroom Monday for the sentencing. Several people spoke, including Nevado’s fiancée, Sherry Mendoza.
"Russell represented the meaning of being a true angel,” she told the courtroom. “He lived life to the fullest, putting thought and effort into other people, his family and himself."Nevado was a black belt karate instructor at his family’s studio. He and Mendoza planned to get married, start a family and open another karate studio.

His mother, Marilyn Nevado, broke down in tears as she described the day police showed up at her door to tell her about her son’s death. She says that she didn’t believe them until the officers showed her his driver’s license.

"It felt like my chest had been stabbed many times and someone ripped my heart out of my chest," she said.

She said their family hasn’t been the same since Nevado’s death, but she hopes the sentencing will help them move forward with their lives. Still, she said, burying her son was the hardest thing she ever had to do.

"With no hesitation I would have given my life for my son to have lived longer."

I understand that when the Supreme Court decides on a case, it set precedent for future cases. However, when that decision is made does it then become law? E.g: Supreme Court deciding that burning the American Flag is allowable because it falls under the protection of the first amendment incorporated by the fourteenth. Then can legislation make a law banning flag burning if the court decided it was okay?

In the past, I simply had them audited, locked up, or liquidated. But I am about to take control of this country and will be implementing a rapid and radical march to a Marxist/socialist society with an end to truly free elections, so there will a number of right-wing conservative racist homophobes who will oppose me. Should I build re-education camps to deal with them? I plan to take control of the press, and I can count on those Google guys to help censor the internet, but dissent can still spread until I can brainwash everyone. Ideas?

I emailed the Customer Service Center at the Census Bureau asking what would be the procedure to add Sexual Orientation in the demographics section (alongside race, sex, age, marital status) of the Census questionaire.

Robert Clair of the Census Bureau replied to me that it won't ever happen because "behavioral or preference issues are not really the domain or purpose of the decennial census program."

He suggested I write to my Congressional representatives and to the US Office of Management and Budget.

Wow. Sexual orientation is not included because the Census Bureau considers being homo a choice.

Any ideas of what to do in addition to contacting the Senators and Reps and the US Office of Management and Budget?
