Could we have misjudged him? Could it be that the reason he spends like there's no tomorrow be that his Faith tells him there won't be one? Is it possible that Bush and the Republican Party count on the Rapture to bail them out in '08?

No, silly! He spends like there's no tomorrow because the money he's spending isn't HIS money. It is (or, at some point, will be) coming directly from the pockets of the common taxpayers! If anything, there's a sizable profit being made from his stategic overspending - by SOME people (including himself). The approach can be candidly described as a kind of "reverse robinhooding". It often amazes me how many people are failing to see the big picture here. However, I suspect this has something to do with the constant "distractions" being placed on our "eye level shelves", so to speak... plus, the fact that many people have to spend more and more of their time working... to keep up with the ever increasing cost of living (even modestly) well.. Right now, the economic divide has placed excessive power in the hands of the few, but mighty. Our daily lives are being affected by this - slowly, but surely. (Slowly, so as not cause the multitude to question the process too deeply; surely, so as to keep the divide intact.)

By the way, these strategies are nothing new. They can be seen full-force in countries most Americans consider to be backward - those where the masses live in poverty, the middle class is almost non-existant.... yet, the upperclass and rulers (deciders) are counted among the world's most elite. I think it's difficult for the American mind to grasp WHY these unprogressive conditions exist; what it is like to have food and commodities rationed to you by your government; what it means to not be afforded quality living conditions; and, more importantly, quality education. This, in turn, leaves these citizens with few options in life, other than to serve the will of the wealthy rulers (and be grateful for the opportunity of doing so), in order to survive. These rulers then instill fear and hatred of those outside their domain, and limit access to outside media, literature and music to prevent comparisons to less opressive cultures. Add to this equasion several influential religious leaders. Leaders who are often self or government appointed; leaders with authority to create, interpret and enforce religious doctrines as they choose; leaders with the power to forcibly control everything from your wearing apparel to what you are allowed to say (and, it seems, think).... and so, the dominance circle is complete. At this point, the common people have little choice in their own lives. They are brainwased into believing their way of life is correct, and theirs is the one true religion. Difference of opinion, Insubordination, and rebellion (in any form) are punishable in the most severe ways - including death.

And, it all begins by taking away people's opportunities, their rights, their privacy, their money. - and keeping as much as you can for yourself.

Look the super rich love to see all this fighting between so-called party loyalties, they could careless if you vote Democrat or Republican, they have already chosen who will do their bidding on both sides of the political fence.

Is it any wonder Hillary sounds so much like Bush on Foreign Policies?

What we as Americans must do is get rid of all the scoundrels who infest our government with their corporate centered ideologies.

Bush has been showing signs of declining mental capabilities. People can try to deny it but let's face it. Usually, the man isn't capable of speaking a coherent sentence. I honestly think he's going off the deep end.

I agree. He should have vetoed at least half of the bills that crossed his desk, but he was too busy trying to please the opposition and make it work in a bipartisan way.

That and being at war.

You did know that, right?

Wow, religious bigotry and political bigotry in one post.

Shall we go after him for being white, too?
