The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh
The capital of Wales is Cardiff
The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast
Eire's capita; is Dublin

Like everyone else has said,
London is the capital of England,
Cardiff is the capital of Wales
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland
Belfast is the Capital of Northern Ireland
And Bristol is the Capital of the Westcountry.
And yes Technically the City of Westminster is the Capital of them all as that is where central government is.
I hope we've all confused the Americans enough for today!

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and London is the capital of England. Wales and Ireland (both Irelands) have their own capitals too. So the answer is - there isn't one for the whole of the United Kingdon. GB is wrong about London being the lead city, Scotland has it's own Parliament as well now GB!!!

The United Kingdom being made up of 4 countries actually has 4 capital cities, London however is the leading city being home to the Houses of Parliment.

For a city to be a capital of a state, the government needs to be based there. There ain't no government in the The City of London , Parliament is in the The City of Westminster. Therefore the City of Westminster must be the capital of the United Kingdom.
