I did sign a month to month lease for the mobile park though, that I cancelled. Do I get my money back? What do I tell her if she refuses.

Check with a local real estate office and ask them. I think, if it wasn't said to be 'earnest' money, you can get it back; esp if there's no contract. It may also depend on how long it's been since you signed the lease. If it has been over a month, you probably won't get it back. The landlady has put this space aside for you for that month. She has every right to compensation for the space, regardless what you did, or did not do with it. There is no reason she should lose a month's revenue because you didn't use it. Again, my advice is to check with a local realtor or local real estate board. Make sure to fill them in on all the details of the deal.

Yes. Ask for the money back. If she does not return your money, tell her you will file a civil action in small claims court to recover the funds.
