I have to write a paper and my ideas are kind of biased.

People go to war all the time why is it such a big deal now? 9/11 happened ok but people die all the time. We should be happy that they are in a much better place.

While I understand that there are exceptions to the trend, does the trend still hold,

non-church goers voted for Kerry while church goers voted for Bush,

and yes I'm sure there are those answering this question and my previous who are exceptions but I think that loses the intent of the question

I'm sure that anyone who saw this beat down would be shocked, I know I would. 6 people beating down one to the ground and kicking them can actually cause death. I know the kid didn't have to get hospitalized, but think about it, you have 12 feet kicking at this kid- what if one hit him in the head so hard that he suffered a major injury? I think this should be treated as attempted murder. I don't care what color skin you have, you should know that 6 on 1 is not right. Treat those kids like the pieces of %$@! that they are.

They ganged up on a white youth and BEAT him, yet people like Al Sharpton have the nerve to cry racism when the legal system tries to hold the thugs accountable. Why are the so-called "Jena 6" being treated as the victims here, when they're actually the perpetrators?

I've heard cases where a child goes missing and sooner or later the parents are suspects for murder(example: McCanns and those parents whose baby was Sabrina).

If they did murder the child then why are they making effort to notify the world that their child is missing?

Was there a case that the parent actually killed the child but reported them missing?

I lean democratic, but would vote for McCain over Obama or Edwards any day, as an example.

Everybody whines about the immigration issue.Everybody gripes about our government not doing anything.Everybody has an opinion on what should be done. But yet nobody is ready to give an inch on the issues.I don't know if anything will ever get resolved with that type of thinking.Anti's think they are a majority and so do Pro's.Guess what?Neither are the majority. This is a very split issue. To resolve it BOTH sides are going to have to make concessions they may not want.Isn't time to put the 3 year old bull headedness aside and start thinking along the lines of adults?Or do you just want to have something to gripe about while our country falls apart?

He has announced his retirement, from the Senate, and said that he leaves with as much enthusiasm as he started with. He also said that he hopes to have the opportunity to serve the country in some other capacity.
His approval ratings in Nebraska are near 60%. So there is a good chance that he would have been reelected to the Senate.
Apparently his health is not an issue. So what do you think? Do you think he'll run for President as an independent?

Being arrested doesn't mean you did something bad, wrong, against law. They just think you did, or claim they believe you did, or saw you do it. Yes maybe you didn't, but in case you dd, we'll arrest you, put you jail, and wait for your court date or get bailed out. Maybe you didn't do anything but you are still being punished, locked up, your freedom of movement is restricted to a cell or room. You are innocent possibly but you are still locked up. You gotta wait until a judge decides whether you are truely innoscent. Cops can't make that determination before arresting. Yes, th more real evidence the better. But evidence or no evidence, you can still get arrested and put in jail. I think you are drunk and driving because you smell like beer, like you can't stench of beer and not be drunk. Maybe someone spilled it on you. Maybe you are over the legal limit though, we'll arrest you just in case. Your not directly guilty of a crime but guilty enough to be arrested, locked in jail, etc.

TRUTH ABOUT CONSERVATIVES
The Pro-Life Position Is Born of Compassion
Liberals tend to think that right to life activists are motivated by a desire to control women's bodies or sex lives, and to impose a religious doctrine. Whether you agree with it or not, the heart of the pro-life position is the belief that life begins at conception, and therefore abortion is murder. Liberals who don't share that the foundational assumption have a hard time understanding the passion of pro-life voters. Yet they easily admire the radical abolitionists of the 1860s -- who were as "rabid" and doctrinaire in their opposition to slavery as pro-lifers are today. Liberals should ask themselves, if they honestly believed that life began at conception, wouldn't they do exactly what the pro-life forces do?

Liberals sometimes claim that the anti-abortion movement is actually a religious movement aspiring to impose a particular theology. In fact, the anti-abortion side has tended in recent years to make secular arguments. They offer pictures of fetuses at different gestational ages, not Bible verses. You can say it's ghoulish but that approach - having values shaped by religion but making arguments in non-religious terms - is exactly the way faith should be inserted into the public debates.

Isn't it kind of funny how many republicans hang on every word of Rosie O'Donnell, Jessie Jackson, et al...and democrats seem to know all about Rush Limbaugh and Fox News? I find out everything I need to know about these guys from the people here...did you realize you are a tool of their propogandized machine?

Over the years, each and everytime an issue with blacks and whites come up, it is taken seriously and people pause and discuss their views of the situation.

THEN, Al 'Pantene Pro-V' Sharpton and Jesse 'Hymie Town' Jackson get involved and suddenly things change.

I really wish Sharpton and Jackson could just fade into obscurity.

Honestly, our races would get along MUCH BETTER if they weren't around stirring up so much trouble. We can handle the situations rationally and deal with race relations in a civilized manner better if we didn't have these two phonies making things worst than they already are.

I believe early in their careers they were legitimate and really cared about the issues, now it is all about money and fame.

**This question has little to do with the Jena 6. I am just really sick of Sharpton and Jackson.**

At the same rate that Bush did? Will the GOP demand to know what their OWN party will do to curb these bad habits? Or have they resigned themselves to a democratic victory?

Republicans are against birth control and abortion, so they force people to have the babies, then they refuse to help pay for them. You can't have it both ways, people!

Also, having sick kids running around our country affects us all.

(And don't tell me anything about women keeping their legs closed - it takes two to make a baby.)
