After watching the Jena 6 case unfold, I'm curious as to what factors are required to be present before a crime can be argued as severe as the actions of an adult. I'm looking for the legal definition of charging children as adults, and what occurences and determiners are used to decide this.

Over time havent we seen what looks like republicans starting to think about this war and see it as the failure it is, and make it seem in their interviews that they really want change and they care about our troops and lack of political progress, and all that.

Well, what happens when it comes time to actually voting?

A simple measure that would give troops equal time at home as they are deployed .. IS ACTUALLY WHATS BEST for the troops.
Yet Republicans dont even allow that.

Judge these republicans on how they vote.
Not how they talk on their interviews.

Why all the gloom and doom?

I hear people talk about the "mess" - what mess???? Bush has made a mess of IRAQ but certainly not AMERICA.

I sometimes see bumper stickers that read "had enough? vote Democrat" - - - Enough of WHAT? Growth? Low unemployment? Rising incomes?

NO, I HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH OF THAT!!!!

Didn't he just deploy 20,000 more 6 months ago? Why is this a big deal to anyone? Does he think that americans are that ignorant? Last but not least a friend of mine is being deployed to Iraq next month. So people are constantly still being deployed. Isn't this the purest form of propaganda?

We live in Alabama. My 19 year old daughter's psychiatrist has told us that we need to seek disability now for her since her conditions have made it unbearable to work. I have no idea what to do next! Do we need to go ahead and inform her current employer that she will not return to work? How many hours a week will she be able to work while drawing disabilty? We (doctor and I) want her to do something. Where do I go to find out to file parpers? Any help here is greatly appreciated!

With Al Sharpton stating "You can't have two standards of justice..." , isn't he underminding the standards that were set up to protect the "minorities" that he is currently trying to defend? If this same crime were commited by a Caucasian, the tune would be a lot different...

I hope we all wake up before the next election.

Law enforcement officers that taser to punish are breaking the law. It is an example of the misuse of technology and there is the danger that it become routine to taser people at the whim of the cop.

Tasers scare the hell out of me as much as guns do. Fearing the misuse of tasers by cops makes me fear, not respect, both the police and the gov't that is supposed to protect me from harm. I feel we are turning communities into prisons with cameras and tasers. The use of tasers can kill and efforts to minimize that fact by cops who feel comfortable using the taser at the slightest provocation in a minor police encounter, like a traffic violation stop, concerns me a great deal.

What's your A to my Q? Then comment w/o insults, please.

At approx a little after midnight on Sept 17th I was pulled over for driving 57 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour construction zone. The police officer claimed he caught me on a gun as I was merging with other cars from 2 lanes. However, I tried to explain that 1. I sped up to safely merge by getting ahead of another car. 2. In addition it was a Nassua county police officer who pulled me over. The place he pulled me over was just past the "suffolk" county sign on the highway. So I believe I was in Suffolk county.
I have a very good driving record. This is my first offense. I have a court date for this in 5 weeks. I am going to plea not guilty. Do I have a case? What are my options to minimize the negative impact of this incident on my driving record and my insurance? Thanks for your advise in advance.

I was summons a month ago to do jury service for the standard two weeks. My jury service starts in a few days time which my employers were fine with. But i received a letter from the courts saying the possible case im going to be on is estimated to last 12 weeks and if this causes problems i need proof to be excused from 12 week jury case. I asked my employers and they went mad and said i cannot go for 12 weeks and have written a letter as proof saying how they will lose business without me. Is this enough to be excused......as secretly i would enjoy being on the jury for 12 weeks? Help

What are the reasons for US military strength? Technology? The education level of troops? Volunteer? Logistics?

Why does the US military place such a high emphasis on the educational qualifications for officers and chases after college-bound people as NCOs? I would appreciate hearing from service personnel. Does education automatically translates into competence? Many countries with armed forces are following the US military's way in offering scholarships and benefits in signing up. Does the US enjoys military supremacy because of the power projection capabilities of its aircraft carriers? Its airlift capabilities with the C-5 galaxy? Or its dominant airpower? Countries that practice conscription like South Korea, the training they receive is far more brutual and harsh than even the Marines receive, yet why is US military support is allowed on the penisula? Hiw would the US military compare to the Soviet Union's military at its height?

Darth Vader has many medical problems and relies on mechanical assistance to stay alive. The same is true of Dick Cheney. I sincerely hope that Clinton was not referring to this when she made the comparrison between our Vice President and a science fiction character.

It is simply mean and wrong to make fun of someone because of medical problems or disabilities.

What's your take on this issue?
