I was summons a month ago to do jury service for the standard two weeks. My jury service starts in a few days time which my employers were fine with. But i received a letter from the courts saying the possible case im going to be on is estimated to last 12 weeks and if this causes problems i need proof to be excused from 12 week jury case. I asked my employers and they went mad and said i cannot go for 12 weeks and have written a letter as proof saying how they will lose business without me. Is this enough to be excused......as secretly i would enjoy being on the jury for 12 weeks? Help

contact the courts office that has summoned you and ask them

The letter will probably be enough. Your employer is required, by law to hold your job for you, but if your being gone causes them a hardship, it is possible you will be excused.

It may be enough. If your employers state that they will be forced to replace you and you will lose your job, then you would probably be excused due to economic hardship.
