He has announced his retirement, from the Senate, and said that he leaves with as much enthusiasm as he started with. He also said that he hopes to have the opportunity to serve the country in some other capacity.
His approval ratings in Nebraska are near 60%. So there is a good chance that he would have been reelected to the Senate.
Apparently his health is not an issue. So what do you think? Do you think he'll run for President as an independent?

No, it takes allot of work and money to get on the ballot as an independent and I don't see him wanting to go through the hassle.

Hagel has already stated he won't run. If he were to change his mind I would consider voting for him.
