I asked this question wrong, I want to know when a judge will listen to a child who wants to express which parent he/she would like to live with.

I am not aware of any age that a child gets to pick where he or she lives. Children don't make decisions like this, their parents do. Now an older teen may express a preference, but that is only one factor among all the factors that a court would consider. It is never the sole determining factor in a case.

You should speak with an attorney in your state for detailed information.

depends, but I don't think any court lets a child pick. They might take their views under consideration, but in almost all states the child isn't going to pick!
