How do you catch 12 million persons who stay in the US without a permanent address, without IDs, without being registered anywhere? Who would do such a job anyway? Police is fighting against terrorism and they are overworked. Who is going to pay for all the police raids and all the transportation from US to Mexico and other countries?

I got a speeding ticket the other day for 50 in a 35. I dont really know if I was speeding but I did just come off the highway and it is most likely accurate. I thought I was being pulled for no seatbelt but he didnt mention that.

When he brought me the ticket back there was a huge mistake that he did not notice. I was driving a totally different vehicle than what is on the ticket. The ticket says I was driving my 92 Ford Ranger and I was actually in a 2007 Nissan Frontier. It was a mixup from trying to transfer tags when I bought it... but he didnt notice.

Does anyone know from experience, real reasons that a speeding ticket can be dropped in court w/o hiring a lawyer.

If you only want to tell me to not speed in the first place... save your time and dont respond. I only want real answers here.

Thanks... leadfoot

I mean a few days ago, I received a ticket for driving without a seat belt, even though I was wearing it. I put the cross strap under my arm so it will not cut into my neck. But this prevented the officer from seeing it, and trying to explain this was like talking to a post.
When I paid the ticket, the fine was like $53, and all of the fees added onto it made the total $143.
Well, you can say what you want but you cannot convince me for a second that they are really that concerned about your safety in this great state of Texas.
You can ride a motorcycle in P.E. shorts, and no helmet at all. (Which pretty much guarantees you will be maimed or killed.) Now if this was really a big safety issue, I feel that they would not have repealed, yes repealed the motorcycle helmet law a few years ago. Guess there weren't enough bucks for fines on that. But the Seat Belt law is a gold mine. Even though they have no business telling me what to do in my own car!.

Hillary said that she would make it a "mandate" for all Americans to purchase private healthcare insurance. Romney and Guiliani say that people can purchase health care insurance through tax credits, and...?

With 47 million uninsured Americans unable to get it, how can our candidates and government EXPECT people like me to able to afford between $1800 to $3000 a month private health insurance policies?

Has anyone really put some serious *thought* into addressing this crisis with the uninsured and low-income--instead of just adding what I see as "Band-Aid" solutions to a growing problem here in the country?

TN is an "At Will" state and as I understand it, an employee can be fired for no reason at all. Punitave action was taken agains me to an highly excessive extent to what the usuall punishment has been for other employees who comitted similar or worse actions. If I was fired without due cause, despite the allagations made against me in an "At Will" state, what can I do? Can the State or Federal EEOC, State Civil Court, or Federal Civil Courts do anything in my situation?

White House opposes 3.5 percent pay raise
Troops don’t need bigger pay raises, White House budget officials said Wednesday in a statement of administration policy laying out objections to the House version of the 2008 defense authorization bill.

The Bush administration had asked for a 3 percent military raise for Jan. 1, 2008, enough to match last year’s average pay increase in the private sector. The House Armed Services Committee recommends a 3.5 percent pay increase for 2008, and increases in 2009 through 2012 that also are 0.5 percentage point greater than private-sector pay raises.
