John Doe was convicted of a crime while traveling in another country. He had pleaded guilty and completed his short sentence in that country. Upon his return to the U.S., could he be tried for the same crime again because it was felt that the sentence was too lenient?

A question concerning crimes by illegals drew a rather odd response; that you never see an educated person against [illegal] immigrants. Now that's a bit arbitrarily contrived, don't you think?

Isn't George W. Bush the most awesome president we've ever had??
I mean it. He's Loyal to his country and patriotic, respectful to all people, he loves people in need enough to free them from tyrany, he even cares for his oponents and puts them on a pedestal and asks "how may I help you?" and if the request is reasonable he goes out of his way to do it. Hey provided undying support for the victims of Katrina, was there in Alabama after a tragic storm, understands the needs of our troops, helps old people, likes rock and roll music...even r&b.

How can ANYONE not like him? He's for lack of a better word, AWESOME!!!

He outflanks the Democrats on the war (against the Iraq, Iran, and Sudan Wars). He outflanks the Democrats on economic populism (he is anti-IRS and anti-Federal Reserve). He outflanks the Democrats on Health Care (he is a doctor and therefore can tear apart Hillary with his support for Capitalism). He also is pro-national sovereignty (anti-open borders, North American Union, NAFTA, CAFTA, NATO, UN, WTO, IMF, and World Bank) unlike the Democrats. He outflanks the Democrats on civil liberties (he voted against the Patriot Act, unlike Hillary and has been a consistent supporter of civil liberties, including being anti-censorship).

Is Ron Paul the only candidate who can beat Hillary? Can any of the pro-aggressive war, anti-civil liberties candidates beat Hillary?

The United States is complaining about Iran and other countries having nuclear weapons and for other countries to set sanctions against those countries which they suspect have the weapons. However, the US has many nuclear weapons itself.
The countries that have nuclear weapons are: United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, and Israel.
The United States was the ONLY country to ever use nuclear weapons against another country in a time of war. Does anyone remember the horrible and evil damage the United States caused to Hiroshima, Japan? Also, Nagasaki, Japan?
How can a country tell other countries to disarm when it has so many weapons itself?
I am so embarrassed to have this big tyrant, known as the United States, to be geographical neighbours to us here in Canada.

If there were no guns in the country, there would be few gun murders.
Two - Some guns would be smuggled into the country, but MOST criminals would not have guns. It is much harder to kill people with knives or your hands.
Three - If you have a gun, you are more likely to be killed by a gun. The criminal has to protect himself from you. The criminal will usually catch you by surprise, and your gun will not protect you.
Four - Jesus Christ would never carry a gun. Don't tell me someone wants to argue that pointl. How can Christians pretend to follow Jesus and own guns?
Five - Jesus suggested turning the other cheek, not blasting the other person with a gun.
Six - Shooting someone with a gun is cowardly. Why do Christians want to be cowards?
Seven - The second amendment was written by a human who had some fears after the war with the British. Why should we want to live in fear today? A gun is like alcohol, false courage, because the criminal shoots first!

I got a ticket in NC for speeding. 70 on a 55. (I thought I was on a 65) Should I just pay the ticket or get a lawyer. Ticket is $150. If I pay the ticket, will it show up on my FL record? I rather try and not have it show on my driving record. Will a lawyer really have it dismissed?

I'm considering going into the army through ROTC and becoming an officer, but from what I've heard from most military people I know (retired NCOs, the majority of them), that officers are alwase far from the action, and when they are around during combat, nobody wants to have an officer watching their back because 'your shure to die'. Is that true? Do officers ever get involved as far as fighting in combat situations?

I was on maternity leave from my job Jan-March 2007. I work in an upscale chain restaurant where I waitress and bartend. I have worked there 5 years. While on leave, a position was "created" for another server/bartender--a "head bartender" position, in which she gets paid $8 per hour, as compared to my $2.83 or $4 when I bartend. This position never existed in our restaurant, and I have been there 1 year longer, also worked full-time all 5 years, and am a star employee. Can I sue? The mother-company is a very large, high-profile restaurant corporation.

Get this: Monsanto plants experimental crops. They own farmland in close enough proximity to other people's farms, so that when the wind blows hard enough to cross pollenate the crops of other farmers with their experimental crops, they then take the other farmers to court, keep them in litigation for long periods of time, and end up taking their land. This happens SO OFTEN that there is a special HOTLINE set up for them to file cases against the smaller farmers !! And the courts ALWAYS find in favor of Monsanto ! Just another friendly Globalist-owned company that manipulates the system for their own gain. They destroy lives in the name of money.
