What i mean is by values and civil society. it need not have to do with who ever's skin color or even religion. But it does mean to accept the home countries culture and traditions though. If I came to your house,I'd be the one who would have to respect whatever rules U had,Right!?

To an extant it is. After you do not want a society of mindless drones who dress the same, drive the same car etc. Imagine how boring it would be if everyone liked the same music.
So what is the problem with diversity. It is simple in our quest for PC we have turned diversity in to reverse racism. Colleges our required to have a certain percentage of Whites, Asians, Blacks etc. An employer is no longer free to hire the best person for the job. When it comes time for promotions in order to celebrate diversity you just can not promote the hardest working, most deserving employee. You have to look at how many managers of each sex and race I have. Basically put while a little diversity in every day life is a great and I feel necessary thing sadly we have taken diversity to such BS PC levels it will help ruin this nation.

If everyone thought the same, then there would be little differing from the norm.

This could slow scientific research, as similar trains of thought make similar choices and decisions.
Basically, making sure that there are enough people to come from different points of view on a problem helps ideas and fixes move along faster.

There is a point in which diversity becomes too much for a society to handle and work together effectively. However, acknowledging a different culture while also living in (and doing what) another culture is a good thing.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I think a country has to adopt some sort of cultural norm and civilized standards. As the old saying goes, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

That being said, I find it funny that the people who consistently whine about "diversity" forget that many other types of it can exist than the golden calf of racial diversity. Intellectual diversity, for example. And this is also in regards to what another poster brought up ... Not everyone who looks alike, eats pizza, drives the same car etc. has to think alike.

Diversity of skin color, race or ethnicity is usually what people talk about when they say "diversity".

Typically people preaching diversity don't want diversity of religion or thought.

Public schools and colleges are notorious for not wanting diversity of thought which flies in the face of what their true objectives should be.

I'll leave you on this note........

If you were trapped in a burning building do you want the best qualified people trying to save your life (regardless of their race, color or ethnicity) or would you be more concerned that the crew coming for you was ethnically & racially diverse?

The KKK and the Nazis think diversity is a bad thing.
