10th because it (theoretically) protects the rights that are not specifically mentioned in the first 9. At the very least, it should allow the states to define rights for its citizens in addition to federal rights and it should prevent an overstepping of federal boundaries and prevent corporate welfare by limiting the spending authority of the federal congress. Unfortunately, it seems to carry no power and no one is interested in enforcing it.
It reminds me of the sad fact that our constitution is now a "living constitution" and the lengthy, sometimes illogical supreme court rulings have more practical power than the plain text of the document.

My favorite is the 9th: "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." It flat-out means that lack of mention of a right in the Constitution CANNOT be taken to mean that the right does not exist. The Constitution does not create rights, it merely extends special protection to SOME of our rights.

I chose as my favorite the entire bill of rights. They don't stand alone. An attack on the first, second, third, or whatever weakens the rest...or at least enables them to be stripped easier.
One I don't like? The 16th. I think that one is a thorn in the side of every productive American.

The one that says you can worship any God you want. It affects my life because I'm a Christian and God's awesome!!!! If I couldn't worship him without hiding in some underground church, I don't know what I'd do. God bless you, and everyone else! :-)

the 1st ammendment... provides for exchange of thoughts and ideas without fear of imprisonment, etc.
also, as a Christian, it affords me the right to practice my religion and challenges me (and everybody else) to freely exercise their religion or to not exercise a religion at all.
