I got a speeding ticket the other day for 50 in a 35. I dont really know if I was speeding but I did just come off the highway and it is most likely accurate. I thought I was being pulled for no seatbelt but he didnt mention that.

When he brought me the ticket back there was a huge mistake that he did not notice. I was driving a totally different vehicle than what is on the ticket. The ticket says I was driving my 92 Ford Ranger and I was actually in a 2007 Nissan Frontier. It was a mixup from trying to transfer tags when I bought it... but he didnt notice.

Does anyone know from experience, real reasons that a speeding ticket can be dropped in court w/o hiring a lawyer.

If you only want to tell me to not speed in the first place... save your time and dont respond. I only want real answers here.

Thanks... leadfoot

You can bring it up but I doubt you get out of the ticket.

And you might end up with a felony plate charge if the "mixup" is from fraud on your tags.

If this is your only ticket you may be able to skip the points, and just pay the fine, go and ask the clerk before you go into court.

I showed up in court on a vehicle with expired tags and told them that wasn't my name (I had married 6 years before) or my address (I lived out of state) or my Social Security number (it was my husband's) and the vehicle was not mine (my ex husband had never swapped the title) and it was not parked on the street but in a place where a garage had once stood. Turned out the address they had written as the vehicle location was my old address (I had moved out when I married) so the magistrate agreed to waive the ticket, but I think that was an extreme case.
Good luck with yours.

If hte issuing officer's testimony is needed to establish the violation and he or she does not appear at the hearing, the case may go your way.

see if the Judge will take a bribe to drop the ticket, start off with an offer like $10,000 dollars, and take it from there,.....
