I agree with whoever that politician was about re-instating the draft. And this is coming from a 17 year old and it will certainly effect me and my friends.
It is so easy for congress and Bush to send more troops to Iraq when it's not effecting them peronally. Rich wealthy kids for the most part don't join the army. They go to college and continue there eduacation.
The poor kids, who can't afford school, or weren't given a good enough education to get in, join the army. They are the ones fighting for our freedom. A draft would allow the war in Iraq to hit home. How could anyone disagree with this.

Aside from being accused of trolling, not knowing researching my question before asking...

I beg to differ.

Have Republican Presidents since JFK won (at times) landslide victories to become President because democrats (more in the middle) ditch their party in favor for voting for non-military type Presidents the republicans nominate... Such as Reagan and Bush Jr.?

Both of whom have been elected as President twice.

Wrong or not I do see a parallel on swing voters voting for non-military republican nominee's for President.

"Freedom of the Press" gives you the right to print what you know, but it does not give you the right to KNOW anything!

Will they bother protesting in front of businesses /andboycott whoever contributes the most money to the war-supporters in congress for instance? Anytime soon.

Or maybe they don't really care about stopping the war. Maybe they're just into themselves and enjoy grabbing 15 minutes of attention in public that gets them nothing but "me, me, me", "look at me!"?

If one were to read the surrounding documents and records, one would find that freedom of the press was originally and ONY intended to allow a free discourse that included criticism of the government. This came about due to the oppression that always started out by silencing the dissenters.

What can and more to the point, should be done about agenda driven, misleading and outright falsehoods that are presented in the "press"?

This freedom is not absolute! a newpaper can be held criminally liable for insurrection, incitement and other crimes, because they are NOT covered by the intent of freedom of the press.

So what should be the punishment for outright lies?
Manipulated polls that are intended to trick and mislead?
Attempts to sway instead of report?

I realize that no person can fully divorce his/herself from a personal view, even reporters, but the twisting of the "news" is way beyond any slight coloring of the theme!
Thoughts?

I know that they usually have independent companies distributing the prizes and handling the entries, but that seems to me like a company hiring its own auditing firm. There seems to be a potential conflict of interest.

It takes the rest of the world generally 90 day to elect a new prime minister or president. Of course a dictator require 0 days but just a lot of blood.

My father passed away a while ago but we haven't really contacted anyone such as bill collectors, county, etc. We do have death certificate and everything is completed but we keep getting his bills.

I know that I am not legally obligated to pay his bills but he does have a life insurance policy that my mother collected. My dad also owed me a bit of money that he had borrowed years back to buy a home and some other things. His life insurance payout was given to me by my mother to repay that debt but now we have no money to pay his own debts.

My question is.

1)once a person dies, is there some sort of authority that I must report this to other than getting a death certificate?

2)Am I liable to pay his debts even though his life insurance was used to pay back his debt to me?

Thank you.

Hi, I have a friend the USCIS alleged to have committed fraud in getting her greencard 5 years ago. She was under derivative from her US citizen mom.

The rule said, while the application is pending, she is to remain unmarried. She did. She only filed for marriage license when her boyfriend was ready for marriage, 2 months after her green card was approved.

Incidentally, she has 2 children while her application was pending but never legally married.

While staying in Indonesia, her ID card and family card were erroneously printed as married. She has obtained the record from the civil office in Indonesia stating that she has never been married.

Indonesia does not recognize common law marriage, nor California where she has been residing.

On the Notice to Appear for removal proceeding, it says that the allegation was that she claimed she was single, when in fact she was married. Does USCIS has legal grounds for the allegation? She is distressed.

The planes looked different than passanger planes. I didn't see any windows and there was a wierd thing attached to the bottom of the planes, like a launch tube.

Just before they hit I saw a flash go off on the front of the plane like an explosion before it actually went into the building and blew up.

Later on after the planes hit, I heard explosions and as the buildings came down I heard boom - boom like detonators going off.

Then later I was standing over by building seven and I heard some reporter say on the news that building seven had collapsed - but it didn't, it was still standing. Then I heard some guy on a emergency radio say "pull it", why did he say that. Then the building came down. That was the wierdest thing that day! But no one wants to talk about it!

And why was the military flying a terrorist exercise where they pretend hijacker were flying planes into buildings, at the exact time terrorists were flying planes into our buildings?
